Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering Re: Laminate Flooring 2Jan 25, 2013 4:48 am Laminate floors are extremely durable. They are great if you have children and pets as they are a lot more scratch and stain resistant than timber flooring. Laminate flooring is very easy to maintain and does not fade even in direct sunlight. Have experenced after 5+ years that the edges (joins) can start to show wear in high traffic areas. Replace them with wood flooring after the kids are gone Re: Laminate Flooring 3Jan 26, 2013 7:50 am I had problems telling the difference between laminate and wood. Friends just had it installed - looks great. Soft to walk on and has a real wood look. We're having it - Oak look I think. Re: Laminate Flooring 4Jan 27, 2013 10:00 am We have it and it's wearing very well after four years. Economically, it's a great option. Aesthetically, not as nice as timber, but it's a really good low cost option. Our 100m2 cost us $4000 laid. Good value. Hi kek. 100sqmts ? is much of it covered - ie rugs, tables etc, or can you see it well. Are you still happy with the "look". Re: Laminate Flooring 6Jan 27, 2013 7:22 pm We have always had timber floating floors in all of our houses... With pets, its fantastic.. No scratches, easy to clean and looks great... I would recommend the inovar brand of flooring... Looks sesnational, and that is what we are putting in the house we are building at present! Re: Laminate Flooring 8Jan 28, 2013 12:57 am I agree with Ben, we installed the Inovar 8mm laminate floors and it looks amazing. Pics are on my thread if you want a look! We paid $3,950 for roughly 70 s/m. Re: Laminate Flooring 9Jan 28, 2013 7:09 am Saint Mike kek We have it and it's wearing very well after four years. Economically, it's a great option. We're happy enough with it. We'd prefer real timber, and may replace it one day...but that day isn't now. There are too many other things to spend money on. I have some photos on my blog from when it was first laid. I'll see if I can find them. Ours was part of the builders standard range (Eden Brae). It would be best to ask first though, as i understand some of the EB customers in the sydney area were not offered this in their standard range (we are in the hunter). Re: Laminate Flooring 14Feb 06, 2013 10:10 pm Those floors look great! I also will be installing laminate in my future home, even in the bedrooms. I've got two cats and it's hard to keep things hygienic with indoor pets when you have carpeting. I looked at that brand but they don't have a colour I like (bolero dusty rock). I hear they're a good brand though as they also offer water resistance. Anyone have the lam installed in their kitchens too?
