We have had them in a rental property before, and were easy to maintain and no problems with them. I think if you continually saturate them with water then you will eventually have problems with them. We chose them because they don't date as much to me as tiles can, and if we want to change our minds later down the track, they are easier to pull up then tiles! Our framing company isn't back til the 21st so we have more then likely at least another week before anything gets started! And dont forget that if there is some damage, these can be removed fairly easily and replacement boards clipped in, this to me was a bonus. My daughter has some very cheap boards in her rental and these creak like mad when walked upon but it has taken quite a beating and still looks fine. Our flooring guy recommended we lay a premium underlay called Quiet Step which gives you almost solid wood type quietness. He also recommended we buy an extra couple of metres to use as spares in need. We have always had tiles so the floating floor will be a big change for us. Congratulations and get ready for an emotional roller coaster ride of exciting proportions. I am looking forward to following your build as it progresses. Regardless of wall hung toilet or floor pan toilet your feet will be right on drain, seems to me the waste should not be in that location given the design.
