Out of interest - if I wanted to build a fence around my property, the normal thing to do is to discuss with my neighbours and split the costs, right?
What if I was willing to pay for all the costs?
The property in question is roughly an acre, with roughly 4 or 5 adjacent properties that are also roughly an acre or larger. The area is heavily wooded with dense vegetation and the other residents do not (or cannot) access the borders of their respective properties. In fact due to the size of the properties and the dense vegetation, at least three of the houses in the neighbouring properties cannot be seen. The other two houses can barely be seen in some spots.
I'd like to clear the dense bush on one side of the property (leaving the well established trees in place) to create an open grassed garden area so having a fence will help keep the dense vegetation on their side of the properties from growing back into mine and create a clear boundary too. I was thinking of just setting up a fence to cover all four sides of the property.
Because of the dense bush, distance between the houses, and size of the properties on that street, at least 3 out of the 4-5 neighbours will not be able to see the fence anyway.
What happens if one of the neighbours refuse permission?
