Re: Backyard Thread - Pergola Up! 107Jan 14, 2013 11:47 am mikeg12 i can give you a quick breakdown of pricing for entire project.. i havent actually gone through this yet so will be a surprise to myself! ok here we go, to give you an around about price: we paid approx $5500 for pergola and roof installation (with makrolon laserlite roofing which was $1400 on its own). Pergola is 5.6m long x 3m wide. (+materials) And all stud frame + blueboard sheets and installation was about $1900. render all alfresco + blueboard walls + garden boxes was $2550 labour on bench seats + additional stud walls was $2350 add prob another 5/6k for all timber+decking materials. paint $500 Lighting $1000 electrical work $450 plants $2000 soil $2/300? BBQ+fridge $2300 still need to do stackstone cladding (approx $1000) and hopefully not too much more after that. had a BBQ on sunday.. and we brought the TV outside to watch the cricket.... now need TV outside It was always in the ideas.. but now i think we need to go ahead with this. That helps.. We are doing a 3.6 x 3.6 and 8.1 x 1.5 and it seems with permits (and roofing) the quotes are coming in @ $5-$6.5k (in pine) We will do the rest, blueboard is $27 a sheet (3.6 x 1.2) framing material (90x45) is $22 for 5m. Etc etc. Might be time to start a thread On top of that we need another 90m of decking (already got 70sqm!) so there is another $1000. Re: Backyard Thread - Pergola Up! 109Jan 22, 2013 2:17 pm 1rocky with the planter boxes, we sealed all corners of the boxes inside and out around the render with a Sellys moisture sealant. Then painted all inside of the boxes with waterproof Bitumen paint. Then applied a plastic moisture wrap/barrier down all sides of the inside of the boxes... looks very nice, what did you use for the plastic moisture wrap/barrier ? was it just builders black plastic or something designed for the purpose ? Re: Backyard Thread - Pergola Up! 112Apr 02, 2013 6:07 pm humble Did you manage to get the stone sorted? how did the plants go? Would love a update. well .. the dogs have had some fun in one of the garden boxes.. and then the sun smashed a couple of the plants, so as it is one garden box is empty full of soil. the other one is thriving a bit better.. .. so angry and depressed about the other garden box. but we can move on, ive added a new feature screen, outdoor tv+fire place, stained the all the timber and added stackstone cladding over the easter break. just need to swap the pavers over and it'll just about be finished. will try get some pics up later in the week, here is a little taster! I reckon it would be worth a go on a deck so it would look like it does in that picture, all the time. PourOn Gravel binder. http://www.pouron.com.au Re: Backyard Thread - 95% complete 116May 06, 2013 3:14 pm almost home! i can see the light !! went to our local garden shop on sunday and came away with plenty of goodies, including all new plants for the dog-destroyed garden bed, new pot plants and new garden feature which we think is ammaaazing. also put a gate up so now the dogs cant into the garden! so here are the pics! last thing to do is replace the existing pavers with large stepping stone pavers+pebbles and find an outdoor lounge setting! eventually we will look at some cafe blinds when it starts to really cool down.
