Yes I was thinking perhaps 200% of the pipe clay actually. I might look and see if there is a slightly darker colour in the same family. I really want the portico and to some extent the front door to stand out as the main thing people see when they first look at the house. However I also don't want the other colour to appear washed out. That was my thought about the window frames was that the silver would just get lost or wouldn't quite match the other colours. Re: Facade colours - opinions/advice please! 6Jan 13, 2013 10:19 pm What about Paving Stone? It's darker than Pipe Clay but not sure if it is along the same lines in real life. Looks like it would go nicely with the Deep Walnut. Re: Facade colours - opinions/advice please! 7Jan 14, 2013 9:19 am Is most of the facade rendered? I'll second what someone else said about pipe clay may not be dark enough. A darker render gives you the option of lighter window frames. I would match gutters with roof. Is the brick that brown'ish colour or some other tone. Not familiar with that range. Re: Facade colours - opinions/advice please! 8Jan 14, 2013 3:59 pm Hi d@n. Yes most of the front facade is rendered but the sides (starting at the meals which is on the left of Elevation 1 unshaded behind the pillar and may be visible from the street) and rear are brick. The brick is a light brown colour IRL. So Dune roof, gutters and fascia? Re: Facade colours - opinions/advice please! 10Jan 14, 2013 11:57 pm Would love to help but I had the same problems. Though I did do a bit of driving around to find the colours I liked, it then narrowed down the choices. Though I'm still not convinced on our render colour! ![]() Re: Facade colours - opinions/advice please! 11Jan 15, 2013 12:03 am Though when it comes to the window/door frames look around at a few displays and decide if you want them to be a feature or match in with the render. Because we only have one render colour we wanted the frames to be a contrast and feature themselves both inside and out. I liked the idea of the dark frames inside so when we paint the walls a light colour they will again be a bit of a contrast. But this took a lot of looking at displays and walking through them, we swung from light to dark frams a million times before we went with the dark ![]() Re: Facade colours - opinions/advice please! 12Jan 15, 2013 12:13 am We were surprised today when we saw what colours the painter had done for our front elevation contrast, they were not the colours we had chosen, close but not our colours. I checked the contract and the other colours are what we signed off.... we didnt check this!! Fortunately we dont mind the new colours, Border Brown and Stampede (Taubmanns), they dont look bad at all but thats not the point, its not what we chose so check every single thing when you get your contract. I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 35342 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3996 Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing.
