AND it is the one on the right which we like!! I think our plank from the, is like the ones you received. I do prefer the one in store but I think we ran out of options for anything else... I do think the one they sent was more orange then what I remember in store, I would prefer the one they have! Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 105Jan 09, 2013 9:44 pm Thank you Oneness, that is good to know. I will make sure that if I (yes I said IF as I've also come across some worrying info) buy looselay that the shop will hold current stock for us and I will also open a couple of the boxes to make sure the colour is the same or at least acceptable. Ours is also an oak colour (country oak) and wonder if that is common with the other shades too. I traipsed around getting 'best prices' today and one of the suppliers body language became very negative when enquiring about looselay. Although he is a firm believer in Karndean, the looselay is clearly not his favourite. It seems that this product has had issues in Australia because of the huge fluctuations in temperatures, especially WA as we get between 0 to 40 degrees. - Got a pm last night from someone who mentioned something like that too -. It seems that there is potential for shrinkage, expansion and also lifting. However he did say that if they were all to be glued down with spray adhesive this would most likely avoid this from happening. His concern was that this defeats the purpose of 'loosely' and he has a point. However I'd be more than happy to glue the whole lot as we are not interested in lifting it up in the future to take it with us. By the time I'm ready to move again my taste probably would have changed to purple tiles with polka dots or something. I will get in touch with the WA rep in the near future and get some more info and for more reassurance. Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 106Jan 09, 2013 9:53 pm Gee Oneness, no wonder you're furious, if that last pic is supposed to be the same, thats a shocker. theres no excuse really, its not like its a natural wood product, surely they should always look the same? I'd love to know how this happens. What are you going to do? I've been offered to meet the Rep, I declined at first but now I reckon I should definitely ask him. Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 107Jan 09, 2013 10:03 pm No SB sorry must be confusing....the last pic planks are not meant to be the same...i just included that for fmac...i will delete now lol Slab Poured 30/05/12 Lower Floor Plate High 20/08/12 Upper Floor & Wall Framing 30/08/12 Roof 14/09/12 Lock-Up 13/12/12 Yee haaaaa WE ARE IN & I HAVE A NEW IPHONE Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 108Jan 09, 2013 10:08 pm Haha, doesn't take much to confuse me at the best of times Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 109Jan 10, 2013 5:38 pm UPDATE! Great guy at Karndean is looking into this further and will get back to me in a few days....Let's hope he can come up with the colour we want otherwise it's back to the drawing board Slab Poured 30/05/12 Lower Floor Plate High 20/08/12 Upper Floor & Wall Framing 30/08/12 Roof 14/09/12 Lock-Up 13/12/12 Yee haaaaa WE ARE IN & I HAVE A NEW IPHONE Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 110Jan 10, 2013 5:53 pm Serialbuilder Today 8.1.2013. Have found a colour I'm really keen on in Karndean LOOSELAY. I'm not keen on them just being placed on floor and would rather it be glued. Salesman says lifetime warranty, really tough and hard wearing, wont come unstuck but I'm just not convinced? Any potential for that happening? Bet that's not covered under warranty. Opinions or experiences would (again) be very much appreciated. (I think this one is actually ok with the marri furniture and still let's them shine, whereas darker timber colours seem to diminish them) http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q641/Serialbuilder410/FlooringIV_zps7938fa71.jpg First thread: Hi all Need your help please. Had vinyl planks in last home and although we initially loved the look, the feel and easy care of them, they scratched very easily and did not cope well at all with our 2 large dogs. Even just vacuuming would scratch them. I was sure we would go for tiles this time around but after reading a couple of very positive comments on another thread I thought I'd put it out there. Maybe we just had a bad batch? Thinking of Karndean, Camaro or Kenbrook as an option. Vinyl planks, yes or no? I sell the Karndean and the loose lay planks and tiles. ALL flooring will scratch, and I don't care what anyone says, even concrete scratches! All though the Karndean range is mostly of commercial quality, if not treated right they will scratch. Even the reps will tell you that. Having said all that, this is a great product and I would not hesitate selling it one bit. Check the bottom of your vacuum you may have some sharps bits under there, and yes, big dogs clews can be a problem you just need to be aware of that. Good luck with your flooring, hope it gives you years of enjoyment Nice choice! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 111Jan 10, 2013 6:18 pm Thank you for that information Michelle. After all this research I am now positive we had a defective product anyhow. checked and rechecked that vacuum cleaner, there was nothing underneath, it was the rollers that were scratching it, which is ridiculous. I am also certain with the karndean being so slip resistant there will be hardly any of that slipping and gliding around the floor as with the last one. However I am not so naive as to think that it won't scratch at all. That would mean walking around in silken socks haha. Oneness, you and I are probably stalking the same poor people every day. Lets aim for bulk discount haha Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 112Jan 14, 2013 1:18 pm Holy cow, I just read the whole thread... and I'm worse off I think!! Hi everybody, I'm trawling because I'm lost, feeling a bit duped and stupid, clearly I didnt get great advice. I recently laid (the week before christmas) new shiney laminate flooring. It looked great, was super excited. That was untill my baby boy slept half on/off his mattress last night with a wet nappy.... and now right in the bedroom doorway i have expanded planks I live in the sticks, we have a local flooring shop, but they had little or no info on vinyl planks, plenty of praise for the laminate as did numerous, so called "experts", anyways luckily the remaining boxes can be returned as there is no way I'm doing anymore floors with it! I want something kid proof? It's an old house, that we are beating into submission!! Restumped, lined & insulated parts etc, the original verandah floor was green shagpile so the laminate looks a billion times better, but clearly is not going to last at all!! Help!! I found those Karndean looselay and was wondering if anyone had an actual experience with them.... although i think i'm already edging towards the harvey norman Allure flooring? Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 113Jan 14, 2013 3:18 pm Vinyl is waterproof so wont expand can even be used in wet areas (we are putting them in our scullery as well as rest of living space. Harvey Norman in WA don't do flooring so I have no experience with that, hopefully someone else can help Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 114Jan 14, 2013 3:25 pm Hi Mazz, the looselay Karndean is actually recommended specifically with floor boards in mind. I can pm you a phone number of a guy you might be able to talk to for some good old fashioned advise. He sells everything under sun from timber, to laminates, to vinyl so he doesnt have an 'agenda'. Cheers Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 115Jan 15, 2013 12:55 pm Serialbuilder Hi Mazz, the looselay Karndean is actually recommended specifically with floor boards in mind. Cheers Thanks Sb, will keep that in mind, we are hoping to get away in the next few months (it's 400km one way to our nearest major centre) and I aim to have a look at some flooring places, ordering via an online pic is a bit overated!! I know the house is old, but I still have to like the floors!! Thanks leanne yes i love the pics you posted... i might have drooled a bit cheers Maz Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 116Jan 15, 2013 1:05 pm Oneness: any news on the colouring? Re: LOOSE LAY KARNDEAN - update from old thread 117Jan 18, 2013 8:46 pm Fmac...My apologies I have only just seen your post... Received the planks on tuesday (5 of them to give us a good idea) and they are not the same as the display boards, however, having said that they are also not as orangey as the previous sample sent to me. Sooo we have decided to stick with them ... The GM at Karndean has set enough aside to cover our job from the same batch as the ones he sent us, so we know exactly what colour they will be...All is good and we are quite relieved that we dont need to start rethinking everything... I cannot commend Karndean highly enough for the customer service they have given...totally first class all the way... I am sure if you were happy with the Classic Oak sample you had already been sent then you will be just fine...no panic needed... phillipperak007 - You only need to post once in the relevant thread...This thread is regarding vinyl planks...
