For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: bubblynutter's SFive.2 - Moved in, WIP pics 789Feb 05, 2013 8:00 pm Wow it has been a while since I have been in here! House is coming along; we are now down to the final bits and pieces like filling in empty holes with furniture and digging up the front yard in preparation for landscaping. A few issues have developed, including our hot water service pouring out water today (and most days for over a month), and couldn't get a hold of head office so rang my SS. Who was rather P.O.d at the hot water company - apparently a common cause of complaints! Anyway, wanted to share some pics of the WIP with you all. I am thrilled with my shelving design, and have recently reordered things in there to make better use of the space. Still not 100% happy, but it is now more functional. View from kitchen: View from dining table/walking up the hallway: Bottom LHS. This has the cat food and water dispensers on the ground level, with the recycling box next to it. Then the bulk storage for rice, potatoes and onions. On the second shelf is the pots and pans, within easy grab from the cooktop. Bottom middle/RHS. This has the pasta bucket on the bottom, shopping bags, and all appliances. The bin is tucked away next to the fridge - out of sight but easy access. Also storage for the step ladder and broom. Second shelf holds containers of rice & pasta, followed by cereals and UHT milk, and on the RHS is the cooking condiments (oils & vinegars). Bench LHS/middle. Here we have the tea bags and children's daily snacks (and some LCMs for mummy. Oops), within easy grab from the kettle right next door on the kitchen bench. Next to those is the "breakfast station". Grab your toast and prepare it in the pantry, complete with knives and butter. Love how this is working. No toast crumbs on my ceasarstone. Bench middle/RHS. Microwave and spare Lock & Lock containers, followed by condiments & sauces. Rarely used, or used mainly for cooking, so no need to have them in view. Besides, there is no way to make them look neat but still see what you want to grab. Upper shelves L to R. Wrapping all the way around, the shelf above the bench space is dedicated to savouries. Everything I need to cook a dinner. Above that are my herbs and spices, followed by all the baking bits and pieces. The shelf above the baking on the LHS is for baby food & snacks, and then some random stuff. The uppermost shelf is storage. Note all the egg cartons: they are for Dee to fill with eggs. Dee? Read that bit? I need eggs!!! Well, there you have it! My WIP. Not "our" WIP, because DH isn't allowed near it. Good thing he isn't home Monday to Friday. Hopefully will be back in here in a few weeks to update some pics of the rooms. Not happy to take pics until our new 'accessory' furniture arrives. But hopefully that will be next month, seeing how fences won't be happening till at least April! EGGS? You have got to be freaking kidding- of the 5 new chickens I got, 4 turned out to be roosters and have been returned! Of the 5 adult hens I have got, 2 have decided that they are now too old to lay ( and apparently too young to die of natural causes! ) and the other 3 are only laying about once a week.......... I have 4 point of lay hens coming this week. If you ever do the tour of my house I am going to insist that you take a few Valium first xx Re: bubblynutter's SFive.2 - Moved in, WIP pics 793Feb 06, 2013 7:53 am Amazing pantry and so ordered. My problem would be keeping it that clean and ordered. We had a similar problem with hot water leaking at the last house but it was going onto the concrete. Didn't realise how bad the leak was until the neighbours showed us the water on the other side of the fence. It was fixed pretty quickly. There is a huge floodway in the soil down the side of the house, from the HWS down to the alfresco. Waiting on a call back from the SS now; the head office finally returned my message. kexkez and its all labeled. Oh wow. Carmel BN I am just about speechless!! OK BN I think I've discovered/uncovered your calling. BN's declutter and pantry organising company. You could make a mint. Just need a snappy Business name and you are in. Oh and BTW if you ever plan a trip to WA and think you might get bored and want a pantry to sort give me a call. BUT give me at least 2 months notice as I've have to find the pantry shelves first. hehehe Re: bubblynutter's SFive.2 - Moved in, WIP pics 797Feb 06, 2013 10:58 am You should see the rest of her house..... Re: bubblynutter's SFive.2 - Moved in, WIP pics 799Feb 26, 2013 11:33 am Deemaree You should see the rest of her house..... Now that's not very nice - Baby BN is a little messy but he doesn't know any better. On a related note I came home last night to see all the stuff he likes to tear up / throw around / put in his mouth (who knew tissues were so tasty!) up off the coffee table / tv cabinet and figured we'd had visitors... Quote: PS- We have wine...in bottles, thanks to your father's recent reward from work. Oh dear - from what I've heard through the grape vine that's probably not going to end well... p.s. Just realised that I've done a nice job of necro'ing this thread here... hehehe Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs.
