The windows are only narrow so if they were sliding they wouldn't open very much. http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g372/Dazzab6/Bricks/2011-12-16172634.jpg which part of window can be open? up or down? my builder show me the awning windows. It has more than 70% fixed on top. I can only open 30% at bottom. So I guess it is not good for airflow. The top part opens on these windows 23 Aug 2011: Land settlement 14 Sep 2011: Block levelled 20 Oct 2011: Slab 3 Nov 2011: Frame 10 Feb 2012: Handover http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/g372/Dazzab6/ Re: awning windows vs sliding windows? 14Nov 30, 2012 3:47 pm MR2 Ed, what is the average expected increase in cost from normal sliding to normal awning (all things equal aka glass/frame material etc) About 25%.
