Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Nov 13, 2012 10:43 am Ok so we are building a double storey house with 5 points UPSTAIRS only. The back of our house drops to a singe storey to the living area. I have a plan to re-locate one of the evap air ducts (the one in hallway upstairs) to down stairs in the single storey living area section. Is it as simple as attaching a longer duct, using duct tape and re locating the duct in the ceiling down stairs? I know there is room/void/access and I know the right path behind the plaster/studs/trusses Re: re-locating evap duct, can it be done? 2Nov 13, 2012 7:14 pm If there is a way to run the duct, then basically, yes! Of course the longer the duct, the more bends, the tighter the bends the less air will reach the end, as it will prefer to go elsewhere! But basically you can get duct joiners, tape the existing duct to it, the new duct to it, probably overlap the tape if you can, then pull the insulation over the join and tape it down as well! Don't be afraid to use a lot of tape! Especially if it's 14" duct like I think it will be! If your in Melbourne you can get everything you need from metalflex / westaflex. 2 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Hi everyone Question about Brevis gas heating undergound - was recently installed by previous owners (<1 year old) but live in a relatively large house - 4 bdr - and only… 0 2082 I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15284 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built.
