Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 11, 2012 12:57 pm Hello all, I thought I would join in with everyone else and start my own thread about our upcoming build. We have been looking primarily at building with Celebration at this time but we are just waiting for a meeting on the coming Friday to see how things price up and look to make our decision. I will try and keep this post up to date with the latest details as my fiance and I are super excited.

It is an exciting time. I look forward to following your build. Re: Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 3Nov 11, 2012 7:18 pm good thing is you got time on your side because titles ain't due to may. Don't feel rushed to sign to early with them like I did every company will try to make you sign asap lol. But if your sales person leaves you're screwed, I read on productreview website, that their salesperson left celebration homes and they felt neglected, happen with us with our builder also and our adminstration side of things was painful. The salesperson gets sign up commission and gets a bonus when the house is built whether they leave the company or not. So if you lose your salesperson you won't get the same amount of attention if someone else is too takes over. Yeah, we will be taking everything through lots of consideration before any decisions are made, we primarily went with the area we chose because we knew we would have plenty of time to get full finance approval and everything sorted out. I have heard a lot about Celebration and I will honestly say that most of the reviews I have read from family and friends have been positive, but will just see what they say when we meet them this coming Friday. Re: Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 5Nov 11, 2012 10:25 pm Congratulations! I sometimes wish we'd had more time and forethought to shop around for builders but we've been pretty happy so far. I do think some of it comes down to the sales person. Since checking out display homes we have met some who put us right off the company! Look forward to watching your build! Since checking out display homes we have met some who put us right off the company! Look forward to watching your build! We had the same problem with a few builders ourselves over the last few weeks, we walk in and they just pounce straight away, as first home buyers they absolutely target us, where as I prefer to have a look and approach the sales person myself. Re: Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 7Nov 11, 2012 10:59 pm That's exactly how we felt! I think it was the meeting we had with our sales guy who was the main reason we are now building, we'd been talking about buying for the last two years but really hadn't done anything serious about it. Met with the sales guys to discuss the block they were advertising a house on and walked out with a meeting with the finance guy, we didn't go into it with that being the plan but we also never felt at anytime we had to commit if we didn't want to. I have to say after signing I checked every builder and the plans they had that would fit out block and I don't think we could have done better but when your committing to something like building a house you do worry sometimes! A bit like our tile selection, I like it but I'm worried if its the right thing because if we don't like it I can't say it was someone else's fault, like when buying an established home! Re: Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 9Nov 14, 2012 8:55 pm We're using Able settlements. Been great so far and have been quick to answer questions and also deal with some issues we had. Re: Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 12Nov 14, 2012 10:23 pm We're going through focus settlements. They've been really good so far too. They are in joondalup so depends where you are I guess. Re: Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 13Nov 15, 2012 7:04 pm Good Afternoon, We found your thread this afternoon and wanted to take the opportunity to clarify with you that yes we did have some instances this year where staff left the company and unfortunately it impacted service. We would like to assure you that we quickly responded and have put thorough processes in place to ensure we can consistently offer the high level of customer we are committed to. We got a quote from these guys, not bad in terms of cost, will need to compare to the developers recommended agency. Re: Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 15Nov 15, 2012 7:40 pm We settled today with no issues! Re: Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 16Nov 15, 2012 8:31 pm Itzeddie - it was the reviews I read about focus that got me. I did have a cheaper quote but in the end everyone said they were reliable and good at their job. We have them doing our block settlement and our sale of our house and so far they have been great with both. Looks like you have lots of good recs though do I'm sure whoever you go with will be good. fmac - congratulations!!! Yeah, speaking to people the message seems to consistently be that these guys are quite good, it is convenient really as we are quite close to Joondalup compared to most of them in the city. Though were building in Ellenbrook so hopefully that would be ok. Re: Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 18Nov 17, 2012 12:39 am We went to speak to Celebration Homes today to discuss the design we want, and we believe we have struck gold as this is the only plan we have seen across numerous builders that suits exactly what we wanted, see below for the design on our block as well, thoughts? Sorry about the size, I had to make it a bit smaller so it all fit in the image.
Re: Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 19Nov 17, 2012 2:31 am Hi there! I settled on my land in Ellenbrook on the 2nd November (in Altis stage 1) I used a company LWP suggested called All Property Conveyancing. They were excellent, phoned me alot to let my know what was happening. They said my land would settle on 2nd November at 11.45am.. Received a phone call at 12pm that day to say everything was finished successfully LWP were also great. I received a hamper from them last week congratulating me on my land Our build in Ellenbrook - Builder not yet confirmed 20Nov 17, 2012 3:02 am itzeddie We went to speak to Celebration Homes today to discuss the design we want, and we believe we have struck gold as this is the only plan we have seen across numerous builders that suits exactly what we wanted, see below for the design on our block as well, thoughts? If you wanted to make the bedrooms offer you can push the bir out under the eaves and just slide the windows a little to the left or right, gives you that little extra space in the room. Try a sliding door for your WIR, to your ensuite and to your dining to block off your back hallway If you slide your theatre window down you can create a storeroom to the back left corner of the garage, only a couple of hundred $ to add a small 1.5m wall Building again . . with Redink Pre-start 04/12 Keys - 03/13 Finishing off. . . I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17197 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them.
