Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 23, 2012 7:50 pm Hi all, After much deliberation and consideration, I'm happy to say I've decided to go ahead and build with New Generation Homes. I recently bought a block of land in Landsdale and a week later signed the PPA with New Gen. Anticipating titles early December and hopefully can start building by January 2013. We've made some changes from the original plan (upgrade of interior and tiny structural layout changes), but nothing overly dramatic. Can't wait to get to Pre-start stage, an exciting journey ahead! I'm guessing you're in the new section over on the north of Queensway? We're building with Summit just down the road, right in the middle of the estate hopefully slab by Christmas! Looking forward to following your build, good luck! Re: Perth, WA Build - Landsdale Corimbia 7Oct 26, 2012 12:06 pm Leighlou - Thanks! Yeah it does look nice, but very expensive though. They use this exact one in their display homes, but because we wanted a proper laundry cabinet/bench we decided to take it on the chin. twiggens - Heya! Yes, north of Queensway! It's so exciting when you see your street sign for the first time ha ha! My partner and I go up to the area every weekend and most of the time see significant progress. Hopefully we can get to the prestart stage before Christmas. Good luck with your build too! We are building in Corimbia too, also with New Gen, our block just settled yesterday. Your plan looks great jaymak! I wanted that laundry sink too, but we had a strict budget for pre-start and it didn't make the cut. Re: Perth, WA Build - Landsdale Corimbia 9Oct 29, 2012 12:14 pm Welcome Palladian! We made sure we had major things like this costed in our PPA before going ahead, because I know once we get to pre-start it might blow out of budget. The laundry sink does look great, cost an arm and a leg though. Lucky (or unlucky) me it was a 'necessity' as put by the other half... Look forward to hear how your build goes! Are you in the new release north of Queensway as well? We are building in Corimbia too, also with New Gen, our block just settled yesterday. Your plan looks great jaymak! I wanted that laundry sink too, but we had a strict budget for pre-start and it didn't make the cut. I am building with summit homes and that sink was $80 upgrade. I thought New Gen homes had that sink as standard? Re: Perth, WA Build - Landsdale Corimbia 12Oct 30, 2012 12:01 pm Hi MissEm, thank you for your kind words There's much more to do yet! I'm not sure, but as my home was a promotional home a few things were missing. The original design did not provide for a bench top in the laundry and only the following was provided...I could understand why the other half wanted to upgrade... I can't remember the exact price but it was quite significant...it would have been nice if it was only $80. We are building south of Queensway, pretty much in the middle between Kingsway and Queensway. We might still get that sink! It's on my wish list. Hopefully we will fit out our laundry after we move in, will have to live with the standard trough for a little while though. Smarty Pants, the Seima sink is Display standard spec, otherwise you get the one that Jaymak just posted a photo of. Btw we were quoted around $1500 to upgrade to the Seima sink and benchtop/cupboard. Re: Perth, WA Build - Landsdale Corimbia 14Oct 30, 2012 9:00 pm jaymak twiggens - Heya! Yes, north of Queensway! Hopefully we can get to the prestart stage before Christmas. Good luck with your build too! We drive past all the time too, just to look at the dirt even though we know nothing has happened on our block! The neighbours build seems to be going pretty slowly, we keep hoping to bump into them when we go have a look but they're never there We have met the people who live behind us and they seem nice! They have 2 massive dogs, hope they're the quiet type. Palladian Hi guys! We are building in Corimbia too, also with New Gen, our block just settled yesterday. Your plan looks great jaymak! Re: Perth, WA Build - Landsdale Corimbia 16Oct 31, 2012 12:23 pm Palladian - Pretty much on par with your quoted price. Ours was $1,394.00 for that particular upgrade. Keep in mind I bartered with them like there was no tomorrow... twiggens - Yeah I know what you mean. We drive up there every weekend to see the progress, such a painfully slow process ha ha! We usually take our dog up to the block as well as he loves climbing onto the little sandhills enelya - Hiya! Are you sure you wanted to know? Re: Perth, WA Build - Landsdale Corimbia 18Nov 02, 2012 1:13 pm Have been planning the flooring recently (I like being well organised in advance) and bought these wooden plank floorings for the theatre area (the theatre area is where my partner will be operating her photography business out of, rent costs too much..!) At a cost of $12.99/sqm - It was on massive discount...I couldn't say no. Everywhere I shopped asked for an average of $50/sqm.
