Or Mitsubishi 9Oct 05, 2012 2:16 pm Well, I wish my experience was as good as it sounds like it should be. I have the smallest ESP unit, and when it works, it works like a dream. It's quiet and cools my place easily and efficiently. However, having had it for about 3 years, just about every time I go to use it, something isn't working properly. Either the unit itself has leaked gas, the fan unit doesn't work, the controls are flashing or it has completely frozen. Whatever, thank heavens the guarantee is for 8 years. This unit must have cost Actron/Nicholls a small fortune because they are forever here fixing yet another fault. Re: Actron Air Conditioner? At least you have a great warranty period.... it hasn't cost you anything to get it fixed. Mac25 We are getting the ActronAir 22.5kw installed, not sure if it is the ESP one, might have to google that, I was a bit concerned I had never heard of it. We are getting it with the Braemar TH5X32 gas ducted with 13 outlets and 4 zone. I am hoping it is good on the power seen as though my last bill was a bit more. Do you really need 8 zones? All our quotes were for 4 zones, hope we have enough? We set our zones based on solar orientation and how we will use the areas. In the last place we had back of house upstairs (west facing), front upstairs (east facing) and then all of downstairs as one zone so we could turn downstairs off at night. Current house - 8 zones. Study, home theatre, living/meals/kitchen, bed1, bed2, bed3&4, bed5, rumpus upstairs. We don't always use study, home theatre, bed5, rumpus and bed 2 is occassional use too so we can turn off half our zones for energy efficiency. Re: Actron Air Conditioner? Or Mitsubishi 12Oct 31, 2012 12:13 am Hi - we are building in Brisbane with Plantation Homes (Retreat) and have just had the Actron Ultima roughed in. We used Tony Redsell from Redsell Air. I have two brothers who have recently built and they both used Tony (and they both had the Ultima which they love). My brothers researched fully into not only the system, but the installer as well, so made my job easy when it came to picking a ducted system, and an installer!!! Hope your build goes really well! Re: Actron Air Conditioner? Or Mitsubishi 13Nov 06, 2012 12:35 am Hi belandchris Could you tell me what they quoted you for the Ultima? I have had a few quotes and would like to compare them with yours. Thanks Millsy.... http://q2retreat.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Actron Air Conditioner? Or Mitsubishi 14Nov 06, 2012 2:45 pm broom - we upgraded our ducting for $300, i think its R1.9 what rating is the one your looking at. The thing is though, i dont know how much its actually saving us???? Re: Actron Air Conditioner? Or Mitsubishi 15Nov 06, 2012 7:55 pm We're getting an actron installed in our new house, the one we currently live in is Mitsubishi, and while it's been ok, It hasn't given me the wow factor that I want and that Actron will deliver Re: Actron Air Conditioner? Or Mitsubishi 16Nov 13, 2012 1:14 pm We paid the deposit on our A/C today, we decided to go with the "Energy Smart" ducting too. Unfortunately we are not getting it installed until about the end of January as 1st we have to get the concrete paths down around the house. Sucks that we won't have airconditioning for the majority of summer but thankfully the house doesn't get too hot due to the double glazing etc etc. Wildorchid, I think the insulation ratings go up by .5? As in 1.0, 1.5, 2.0. I hope upgrading the ducting makes a difference!
