Browse Forums Home Theatre & Automation 1 Jan 15, 2012 5:03 pm Hello all, Now I am at the point end of my build I am starting to look for all the goodies I have managed to talk my wife into. With our home theatre we are going to utilise the Yamaha floor standing speakers but have decided to go to ceiling speakers for the surrounds and rears. I am looking towards the yamaha IC-800 for the surrounds http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio- ... mode=model and the IC-600 6" Two Way for the rears. http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio- ... mode=model My only other thought was to use the Krix Atmospherix for both surround and rears. http://www.krix.com.au/Product/Detail.aspx?p=44&id=19 Can anyone give me any feedback on the suitablility of these speakers for home theatre use? I had atmospherix for rear/surrounds in my last theatre room and I was very happy with them. One thing I like about the Krix is that they are fully enclosed so any dirt/etc that is floating around in your ceiling can't get into the speakers. For the theatre in my new house I am looking at the Krix Dynamix on-wall speakers for surround and rear. Paul Re: Ceiling Speakers Yamaha or Krix???? 3Feb 07, 2012 9:58 pm Hi Scott, I can say without doubt the Krix make an awesome home theatre speaker. I have setup 2 theatres with complete 7.1 setups using Krix Speakers and they are a little costly but the sound is well worth it in my opinion (yes I sell them but I also sell other brands too!) As paul pointed out they are enclosed meaning the sound all comes out the front too making the reliance on the ceiling space for performance less needed. I was lucky enough to install some Dynamix last week and I have to say how impressed I am with them too! I've read a few posts where they are instead used as surround rears - would it work OK when used from front? Thanks, Jaans Re: Ceiling Speakers Yamaha or Krix???? 6Oct 01, 2012 11:34 am Quick update... installed Atmospherix as front left, right and center and they are brilliant! The Holographix are used as surrounds and I'm very impressed with them too. Highly recommended. Re: Ceiling Speakers Yamaha or Krix???? 8Oct 03, 2012 1:28 pm Krix actually have wall mount versions (square in shape). I believe the models for In Wall speakers are the Epix (very expensive) and the Ecliptix (similar to the models discussed above). Thank you @ashington Homes for your reply! They just got back to me and offered credit for me to just take it as is. It was a less than quotes I got from ceiling… 6 2793 How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents?
