Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Sep 23, 2012 9:11 pm We cannot make up our minds re the correct height to have the top of vanities. We are not having our sinks on top - they are undermount - so we are talking the top of stone bench. What is the norm? or what is the range? - we are not very tall, but dont want to do something that is not suitable for "normal height" people. Thanks Re: vanity height - 850 or 900 or ?? 3Sep 23, 2012 10:09 pm All our benches are going to be 960mm but we are both tall so this height works well for us, but 900mm is standard Re: vanity height - 850 or 900 or ?? 4Sep 24, 2012 7:02 am Actually 900mm isnt standard for a vanity. It is for kitchens but not for bathrooms. You need to remember that kids will be also using the vanity alot more than they would use the kitchen sink. How tall are you?? This has a huge baring on the height. Standard height is between 850-900mm for a drop in bowl. My husband thought they looked to low. It will depend on the height of the bowl and if it sits on top or semi recessed. You would treat the top of the bowl as the normal height between 850 and 900. Not really. Most top mount bowls are higher than 900mm at the top. If the top of the bowl was 900 then then bench top would be around 700-750mm high which is too low. I would say the top of the bowl should be 950-1000m for a top mount bowl depending of the style and size of the bowl. Is this the same height for a laundry?? - again undermount bowl?? although I think for the kitchen we will go 850mm - especially as I am only 142cm.
