Re: PD Rowland 41 107Aug 13, 2008 6:44 pm ggitt Timber delivered. I can't imagine they will leave the timber sitting around for very long. Um, no someone might help themselves to it!!! Our slab was poured on a Monday, Timber delivered on the Wednesday and Chippies started the pre-cut and by the weekend our lower frame was up! Enjoy! We can only dream it will happen that quickly. Re: PD Rowland 41 109Aug 13, 2008 9:22 pm You never know! I think the rain will be the biggest delay at the moment. We were told that our bricking would start in the next few weeks. Steve went by the house tonight at 6pm on his way to Wangaratta and the brickies were just packing up, they've done all the way down the dead side (long side) of the house and the study at the front and about 20 rows high! I'll post up some pics tomorrow night! Watch how quick that frame will go up Happy at Home Re: PD Rowland 41 112Aug 18, 2008 8:05 pm Woohoo! After all these days of rain rain rain, we at last have some wood! Seems even more exciting than when the slab was poured. Met the chippies who seem like a nice bunch of blokes and found out we are indeed the first Rowland 41 in production! They reckon they are going to have to work pretty hard to complete the frame by Monday next week and keep on schedule! Fingers crossed it only rains over night!

It's pretty exciting isn't it!!!! I think you'll be surprised at how quick it goes up, we had a lower frame in three days Happy at Home Re: PD Rowland 41 115Aug 19, 2008 8:36 pm Re: PD Rowland 41 116Aug 19, 2008 8:57 pm FANTASTIC! It's going to be done before you know it! Happy at Home Re: PD Rowland 41 117Aug 19, 2008 9:04 pm It's looking great, guys - I was wondering if you have a concrete floor as part of your Al Fresco, or am I looking at it wrong??? We have ....dirt!!!!! Did you have to request (and pay for) that, or is that how the Rowland comes (if it is there)? Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: PD Rowland 41 118Aug 19, 2008 9:20 pm petal It's looking great, guys - I was wondering if you have a concrete floor as part of your Al Fresco, or am I looking at it wrong??? Hi Petal Yes that is a concrete floor in the alfresco and it is also in the entrance. We were not expecting either, In fact the tender lists it as strip footings. The reason is our slab is a waffle pod, and because they don't excavate for the footings they don't excavate for the alfresco. The good news is that we didn't pay for it and it allows us to tile or timber at our leisure without having to worry about the mess in the short term. Ours is built on a waffle pod slab as well (I think all PD houses are...?) but we have dirt at the front, and dirt at the back. That might make up -a little bit- for having to pay extra for the steel ballustrade you though you had included! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life |
