Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge Re: Do you have an ethanol fireplace? 2Sep 11, 2012 3:25 pm I looked into buying one and came to the conclusion that they are really for decoration/ambiance only/not primary heating, the heat they put out isn't enough to do much with. In this years "The Block" the brothers had one installed in an old fireplace in their terrace for ambiance. Ones I looked at were the more portable ones - not permanently fixed. They're not practical if you want to use it for heating and expensive to run. The methylated spirit cost about $3 per litre from Bunnings. But I love the cozyness they create and the zero mess part. I'm thinking about getting another one for the bedroom. Re: Do you have an ethanol fireplace? 7Oct 01, 2012 8:58 pm I got a 3 burner wall hung one in stainless steel online. Re: Do you have an ethanol fireplace? 9Oct 04, 2012 9:18 pm tengals can you take a few pictures of it for us? maybe of it running? also how long would say a litre run for? Hi Tangals, I will take some pic of the fireplace while it's running over the weekend, it's meant to be cold and raining here in Canberra on Saturday. 1 litre runs for approximately 4 hours (Digger's brand from Bunnings). I've been told they are watered down about 30% (not sure how accurate this info is) and it smells too so I don't like it very much. I'm going to be trying out another brand that is 96% pure ethanol, as soon as I get a chance to order it online but the smallest quantity they sell is 20 litres. I've done a bit of research on the bio ethanol fuels and have posted my research at http://www.hammerandheels.net/pros-and- ... fireplace/ Hi all, My first post, we are building a house and can’t decide the layout of the lounge room. We have a large N/W facing window and are wanting to have a wood slow… 0 13869 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11699 I would probably render it and then paint it as per your other advice, or gyrpock over the top. 1 3435 |
