Hopefully we aren't too far behind you. Must be awesome to see the frame going up! We are waiting for trenches to be dug etc. Supposedly slabbed next week but with the weird and wild weather here at the moment I am not sure if that will affect how much gets done between now and then. Re: Porter Davis homes 6032Sep 07, 2012 8:04 pm linloch Hey Mitroff, glad to see things are on the go for you. Very exciting. We have our colour/elec/tiles appointments next week, so I'm looking forward to that too. Hey Linloch, Finally things are happening for us and we could not be more happier. Good luck on your appointments and make sure you ask the cost of all options and upgrades that you are interested in. Some of the upgrades sound expensive but don't cost much. For example, we upgraded our standard bathroom to the one with free standing bath tub and apart from the freestanding bathtub we also got up-sized shower from 1200x900 to 1720x900mm and it costs us approx $1,500. I thought that wasn't much (maybe someone will disagree) but it doesn't hurt to ask before you say no to yourself Let us know how you went Re: Porter Davis homes 6033Sep 07, 2012 8:25 pm monkeypantz Exciting times, mitroff! Definitely monkeypantz Until recently I was looking at the photos in your blog thinking when am I going to get to this stage! This morning the frame went up and for the first time this afternoon we went for a walk through the house. Man that was exiting but I must admit the house looked a lot smaller than I thought it would be Re: Porter Davis homes 6034Sep 07, 2012 9:13 pm cinderella_375 Mitroff that is exciting!! Hey Cinderella, Yes, we are very happy and exited to finally see things happening with our build. We were struggling until 2 weeks ago because our site start was delayed for more than a month and we never got an explanation to why was that. We had a lot of sleepless nights worrying whats going to happen since we had to sell our old house and now when renting, every delay in our build equals wasted money on rent. The whole point for early July start was to have the house finished and move in before Christmas but because of the delay, now I doubt we'll make it. Anyway, I shouldn't be complaining, let's just hope that our build is finished without any major issues, nothing else matters Re: Porter Davis homes 6035Sep 07, 2012 11:33 pm YAY Completed our 3 month inspection this week. About 30 issues logged. Took abut 90 minutes. All went well I thought. Guy was nice and processional too. Now to wait to get it all logged and then to coordinate the tradies:-( How has any one else's 3 month inspection gone ? Cheers all Mikey Re: Porter Davis homes 6036Sep 08, 2012 7:01 am Mikey_Harrison YAY Completed our 3 month inspection this week. About 30 issues logged. Took abut 90 minutes. All went well I thought. Anyway, I shouldn't be complaining, let's just hope that our build is finished without any major issues, nothing else matters I'm sure you will have you house by Christmas...we are at month three and 10 days and are doing the final inspection next week, so a week or two to rectify error made...would have been faster if our SS was not on leave for two weeks...I would think its best not to hurry the build... Porter Davis homes 6040Sep 09, 2012 6:42 pm Don't worry, we were supposed to have a May site start but after the bank stuffing us around for so long, we now have an extra 3 months longer in this rental than we wanted Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12334 Ask for references and speak to them.
