We have chosen the tiles that cost us additional 4k to the standard package. I have not yet paid the 4k, and thanks to your post I will endevour to make sure that when I do pay, the tiles will be in stock when I need them. They eventually got some from QLD and the rest from SA, took ages but they got them in the end. Delayed the handover of the house which was the worse thing.
What stage of construction are you at? If push comes to shove, hold off paying a stage claim until it is sorted out. That usually brings things to a head. Only works if your builder has played a part in the process though (sounds like it, if it was a packaged deal). Have them (the builder) do the strong arming with the supplier for you. I know that it doesn't help, but see if you can select a higher grade of tile for no additional cost - too help ease your pain. If you don't ask, you don't get.
