By the way in general most new developments around Melbourne are doing the same lot sizes like marriot waters and even smaller as they have introduced now 8.5m front.
It's not small as it sounds.

Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1448Aug 21, 2012 2:10 pm Hi Michael, No I havent been given a completion date, but I hope to have it by mid to late October. I hope it gets completed soon. On another note...the roads and driveways have gone really dirty because of the construction work...I hope the developer/builder will take care of it once construction is all done. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1449Aug 21, 2012 2:31 pm I have been given a rough date at early November but I haven't started tiles yet. Have you started the tiles ?? I know they will clean the roads at some stage but It will be a while untill majority of the works have been completed. If they don't clean I will come and grab you and we can clean it together Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1450Aug 21, 2012 3:33 pm Sure....I had a query to all the people building with PD...PD advised us that we cant have stackstone cladding done on the exterior ??...and they said it was the marriott waters regulation...I have seen many houses with stackstone cladded exteriors...so not sure if it is a new rule...and whether I can do it from third party once the construction is finished ....thoughts ? Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1451Aug 21, 2012 3:42 pm I havn't read in the contract any covenonts on stackstone and as a matter of fact two of my friends in Marriot Waters have it. I wanted it myself but it was way expensive through PD. You can do it yourself after handover unless you can find on the contract where it says you can't do it. By the way we were told that we can't have colorbond roof and I was shocked to see a house being built in stage 13 on Lyndhurst blvd with colorbond roof. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1452Aug 21, 2012 4:00 pm Exactly....happened to us as well.....I think Once you have signed the contract they do not want to alter it and thats why they(the builder) comes up with excuses like estate regulations etc...... Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1453Aug 21, 2012 5:29 pm Slab pour delayed last week to today. Went by this arvo, no slab no explanation. I hate Porter Davis and will never recommend them to anyone. I have no idea if we will ever actually see a spell of continues work on our home. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1454Aug 21, 2012 6:15 pm Alistair it will happen mate. Have you contacted the SS ?? Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1455Aug 22, 2012 5:11 pm I know it will happen, but the constant delays are just c***. I did contact the ss, but it is really difficult to believe what they are telling me when the 5 houses around us and their neighbours have all gone in without a hitch and blocks are being cut and poured all over the estate when apparently we can't. Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1456Aug 23, 2012 9:54 am Hels If any of those negative remarks were aimed at me, my comment was purely saying that I think it's sad these days that the blocks are offered a lot smaller by the developers for the same price as a few years ago when 700m or bigger was available. I don't see why the developer doesn't keep it consistent through the estate giving everyone the same opportunity. It is happening across all the new estates now and seems to be pure greed because they can sell more blocks this way. But if you want to be hostile because I have an opinion then I'll happily exit this thread now and wish you all the best with building your dream homes. Some bloody roof eaves on these joints would be good too! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1457Aug 23, 2012 7:06 pm alistairlow I know it will happen, but the constant delays are just c***. I did contact the ss, but it is really difficult to believe what they are telling me when the 5 houses around us and their neighbours have all gone in without a hitch and blocks are being cut and poured all over the estate when apparently we can't. What is the excuse exactly ?? Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1458Aug 25, 2012 5:33 pm Whats with the house with the extra wide garage along Lyndhurst Blvd a few down from cnr of Albida Parade and Lynhdurst Blvd??? Looks to me like almost a 3 car garage but only if trying to fit 3 pissy small smart cars lol! Re: Marriott Waters release --> Info / update center 1460Sep 02, 2012 9:19 pm I would have thought logically that Terrace houses would be built on the tiny 200sqm blocks. For instance I know of a brilliant estate in South Australia called Lightsview. Those blocks are tiny like 150sqm but they are terrace houses and look very impressive. |
