Superdaddy Hi guys, I have my tiles appointment scheduled for tomorrow, I just found out after speaking to National Tiles that they do not yet have my drawings and will get it next week. For tomorrow they will use a standard template and replot at a later stage. This will not give me a true costs for my tiles selections. I spoke to my BC and enquired when the drawings will be ready and she told me it's normal for the drawings to be ready after selections whether tiles or colours. Is it true? I have insisted to know when the drawings will be ready so she will find out with drafting. What concerns me is that we will not know the real price until contract time. And that time is already stressed to check if everything is correct and included, the last thing I want is to make more cosmetic changes. Did you have your drawings at your tiles and colours appointments? Stressing out here......... Ebony/Helen @PD, is this something you can help me with? Superdaddy.. same here...I had to do my Tile selections AND electricals AND Colours etc without my drawings.. had to go off the Standard Waldorf floor plan and they try to estimate the costs... will be close.... about 10-15% range of the actual figure Re: Porter Davis homes 5913Aug 16, 2012 10:01 pm cattycatcat We had our 3 month inspection on Monday... It wasn't much of an inspection.. The PD rep turned up. Asked me for a list of things I had noticed, wrote it down and left. He didn't bother inspecting anything and was done in 5 minutes. I was kind of disappointed to be honest. How has everyone else's 3 month inspection gone? Is this standard? I expected them to at least want to walk through the house and outside to check for defects. Sent from my iPhone so please excuse my spelling mist cakes Hi cattycatcat Thanks for your feedback on your 3 month inspection appointment. I can understand why you were surprised by the speediness of the appointment, 5 minutes does seem short! I'd be very happy to contact the New Home Care team and get your NHC Site Supervisor to give you a call and explain what he looked for and if he spotted anything. Just drop me a PM with the best way to contact you and I'll get back to you. Cheers, Helen. Porter Davis Homes Questions? Hi J&C I noticed your question and I wanted to reply on behalf of PD. I've spoken to our tile provider, National Tiles, and one of our Building Managers about sealing tiles with PD homes. Many tiles on the market today do not require sealing - only natural products do such as stone. They have both stressed that there is risk involved in sealing your tiles if it is not required, as it could change the colour of them. So proceed with caution if you're doing this yourself. If National Tiles recommends that a particular tile be sealed, we will recommend this to our customers. There is a charge for the sealant and the application which your BC can find out for you. Hope this information helps you. Cheers, Helen. Porter Davis Homes Questions? Thanks for this clarification Helen Re: Porter Davis homes 5917Aug 18, 2012 7:51 am monkeypantz http://robertandaranea.blogspot.com.au On my phone too, cinderella, so hopefully my cut and paste turns into a link by some magical internet witchcraft The house is looking absolutely fantastic! Thanks for the link. And LOVE your choice of front door....we have picked the same! It's good to see it up/hung to get an idea of size. I am paranoid about the safety of the pivot system and our toddler. But DH is in love with the size of it in the entry. His motto was "the bigger the better" when it came to choosing! Re: Porter Davis homes 5920Aug 18, 2012 11:11 am Had my selection of tiles yesterday. Even though NT didn't have our updated floor plans they still did a great job using the standard floor plans. The process was smooth, the coordinator was friendly and we finished the appointment early. *thumbs up* We kept our tiles the same colour everywhere throughout the house so made the selection process quick and simple. Tip: do your homework first by visiting NT earlier, as them for a sample tiles, also check out PD displays. Next up is colours and electrical on Tuesday. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12182 Ask for references and speak to them.
