Browse Forums Buying Land Re: How long for land to be ready? 8Aug 16, 2012 12:26 pm no I won't settle until 2nd half of November, so probably won't be able to start until the new year. As for builders I've signed up with Porter Davis but ran into some issues and may walk away and start over looking again. Re: How long for land to be ready? 9Oct 05, 2012 4:21 pm We had a block of land in Cranbourne in Victoria, it was the last stage of the estate so pretty much everything was already built on all around the stage. Even then they were still 3-4 months after the original date. There will always be delays, rain holdups, paperwork holdups, council holdups etc. etc. so my best advice I can offer is be patient - it will be done when it's done, not much you can do to rush it! After 2 false starts, a year living overseas, two more world trips and 3 years of uncertainty we are now starting the build process again - hopefully for real this time! Yeah, Stage 7 of Wallara Waters in Wallan was delayed big time, we put a deposit on land in Stage 9 in May last year, when stage 7 was finally finished and stage 8 hadn't yet titled. They now say stage 9 will title in May this year, the delay has suited us as we have been able to save heaps more because of it, but they still have some stage 7 lots that are for sale as they were most likely sold but took too long to title and contract ran out and people went elsewhere.
