We knew that work had stalled for some reason or other and the completion of the fixing stage was delayed, but it's the first time we've been out and seen hardly any change. Our bulkhead has been installed (still seems strange to me that they would do it after the cornice), and there's lots of circles scribbled on the walls, presumably someone needs to do something in those spots. Architraves are progressing, almost complete, BUT we realised they've used the wrong architraves ! Notified the SS this morning and he thinks it will be fixed by the end of the week and not hold anything up, I guess we'll see. Our side fence is complete, but our neighbour is complaining that our incomplete gutters are directing water onto his property and he can't have his driveway poured because of it. SS says the rain has delayed the work on the gutters and he doesn't know when they will be completed. I know they're all minor problems really, but it looks like our dream run is over I'm glad we're finally meeting the SS this week. We all have our dream runs then NOTHING! Its good that you are meeting the s/s cause thats when you really find out how its all going. Look forward to your update............... Re: Porter Davis homes 5854Aug 06, 2012 7:45 pm tstr1a J & C Is it normal for bricks to develop cracks! we saw some of the bricks on the garage wall have been cracked (thin). Has anyone else encountered the same can you post a pic. Sometimes bricks have hairline cracks and it's perfectly normal. I've been trying to load pictures on this site and have been unsuccessful so far. We have realised that too, once we've paid around 90% of the building cost our the work on our house has slowed down. Prior to that it was at a very fast pace. We have also received the final invoice and there are heaps of issues yet to be addressed. I'm finishing a 7m x 6m Merbau deck which is looking fantastic. I now understand why companies charge so much to lay decks, its such a time consuming process..... My deck is spot on level and built better than a professional company would have built. I used 21 concrete stumps, F17 (hard) wood bearers and the rest. Cost around $4.5k. This weekend I'm working on the alfresco extension and merbau box seats... which I can't wait. How is your place coming along? Re: Porter Davis homes 5859Aug 07, 2012 11:38 am Hi Guys, Our PCI inspection is this coming up on 13th of August Cant believe is happening so fast. This is our first building experience, we are very excited and little nervous not knowing what to expect on the day of inspection. We would appreciate any advise during the inspection day?? such as what should we be long out for?? any comment or suggest would be a great value Thanks, Karma888 Karma888 Building PD Berkley 27 BLOG: http://porterdavisberkley27.blogspot.com/ Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53564 Upcoming Events! Your build seems to have flown. We started 3-4 weeks after you, and seem to have kept step behind you (provided our fixing stage is completed soon), so hopefully I'll be saying the same thing soon Obviously I have no advice, sorry!
