Weve also got some in our overheads Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 24Jul 22, 2012 12:18 am Kitchen Plan layout Here is our kitchen plan layout, edited to suit our building size. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ All kitchen cabinets, vanities and cupboards are Polytec Createc "Ultra White Gloss". (Well, no point putting image here, as it is just white). All our bencktops and vanity tops in the bathrooms and ensuite are in "Quantum Quartz" Designer Stone, "Luna White" colour. Major change to our rainwater/storm water system. They have changed it from above ground tank to underground tank. I actually prefer underground, as it is hidden away, but it will add to the cost of our build. Estimated price change is from $8k to $12K. We just have to wait and see the costing in the final tender amount. We have opted for LED downlights in the kitchen and family room. Everywhere else, just simple baton lights so we can replace them with lighting after handover. Two mote outdoor lights where the alfresco will be built. 2 double power points in every room and few lights here and there, as well as garden/driveway lights junction. Expected extras cost: $4.5K Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 26Aug 22, 2012 4:23 pm 14 working Days since CDC was submitted, yet no reply. So much for the 10 day turn-around they promise. self::bbcode_second_pass_code_cb Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 27Sep 13, 2012 12:38 pm We are now waiting for demolition and vacancy of our rental house we are moving in to. Not long to go till construction phase. Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 28Sep 26, 2012 4:07 pm Demolition is now planned for Friday 28/9/12. Finally, we say good bye to the old, mouldy, smelly and dusty old house. Well, we don't have any sentimental memories as such Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 29Sep 26, 2012 5:29 pm I understand completely. We sold our old smelly, mouldy house, in a much worse location in order to build our new home (after renovating it first though.) I look forward to see you progress over the coming months. Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 30Oct 15, 2012 4:18 pm After 3 weeks of demolition time, finally! The land is now clear, ready for final survey and peg-out by Masterton. M should survey the land sometime this week, and things start to happen by next week eg. The good old dunny, mark of starting the build Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 31Oct 21, 2012 7:52 pm We have been pegged by the surveyor. Building work should start soon. Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 32Nov 02, 2012 7:35 am Formwork in progress On Wednesday, we had few piles of soil delivered. Funny, I had to sign a paper so that is any soil had to be taken away I agreed to pay for it. Now we have soil delivered? Must be a standard deal, just in case. Looks like they will have to dig again for it later. I'm sure you all know We are not borrowing the whole build amount from the bank. We will use our life savings to pay for some of the costs. Our idea was that the bank will pay its share and we will do the last progress payment from our savings. But, No! The bank expects you to pay the balance in advance and them to make the last payment. They don't tell you this. So, here we are waiting for the bank's inspector to visit the site and report back to them, delay of a week. I chase up and they tell me the above 'rule', they won't pay the invoice until we pay our part. So we are now one week behind in paying the invoice. Lucky, Masterton knows this and has agreed to extend the invoice due date till this Friday. We already received the second progress payment invoice! Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 37Dec 06, 2012 9:02 am good progress. your frames will be up in no time. Re: Building the Santorini MK 2 by Masterton Homes 38Dec 11, 2012 9:05 pm Ground level windows installed I met with the SS today for a quick chat. He is cool. He has higher hopes of finishing the house than me. Even under sprinkling rain, the workers were doing work finishing off ground level. The brick layer must have come in on this morning, as it was not there yesterday afternoon. I'm aesthetic, as brick work was not due till next week!
