The niche would be on Bedrooms 2's outer wall (the one with the door)

That now makes sense It is a good theory, but as I said I can't afford to lose any space from the hall which would happen with the 2 x 90mm stud walls...nevermind. I think the plain old wallmount is the easiest option for all But you have the choice to lose the space in the hallway or the bedroom just depends on how it's specified.....the front face of the wall can be the existing hallway wall.....if you can't loose space in either then yes its a problem. In any case the TV will protrude into the walkway.....what about a projector....no intrusion on hallway then..... mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Niche for TV 26Aug 06, 2008 5:15 pm haywgl Hey guys Kiwi - I did ask PD about all these electrical/wall mounts/infra red things but they say they don't know what I mean and don't think they can do this. This is why I called on Rod's help, he has been great The PD electrician will be putting in all the TV points and powerpoints at the exact locations that I want to and then Rod will be coming in (hopefully) to do the av wiring etc.. When your house gets started find out who the Electrical Contractor that has been allocated the job and talk to them directly. I'm sure they'll be able to help with getting your A/V cables and power installed right where you want it, then all Rod needs to do is fit them off after handover. If the Supervisor allows Rod in to do work during construction then you're set. Re: Niche for TV 27Aug 06, 2008 5:25 pm Ah yes I get what you mean Mike, but I was thinking that it may look odd having the plasma protuding from the niche....anyhow it will probably get complicated with actual measurements of the niche.
I think if I can put the Plasma (does anyone know where I can find a Plasma smaller than 42 inch - or would I be looking at LCD for this?) up highish then it won't look so odd having it on a slight tilt with the cables/powerpoints behind it. How come when I go to display homes they always have their TVs mounted flat on the wall and there are no powerpoints/tv points to be seen? Where are they hidden? That's the look I want!! Does anyone have a picture of the spacer Rod was talking about to hide the powerpoint etc? A side on pic would be great Kiwi - Good idea! I will do this My karma ran over your dogma |
