Re: Demolish kitchen and bathrooms 8Jul 23, 2012 5:47 pm Kitchen would cost between 10-15k depending on which hardware options you choose. The stone could cost between $2500-4000 depending on colour and thickness. Good luck getting all you have listed done in 6weeks. Anyone that promises that is telling pork pies! Thanks for the info....you are right. Just getting companies out to give us a quote is a nightmare!!! Some don't turn up, others cancel at the last minute. The company we purchased our spotted gum floors has gone in receivership (Just found out on Friday). Luckily we paid via credit card, so we are getting our money back from the bank. We have now decided not to go ahead with our renovations and are looking at established houses instead. Don't know if this is just a Perth thing or what?? Re: Demolish kitchen and bathrooms 10Jul 24, 2012 8:21 pm Hi Zora I work for a Reno/extension company and we can turn around a budget estimate on an entire ground floor extension plus first floor addition in 1 week. If these single-trade guys can't get you a quote within 3 days then you shouldn't be working with them anyway... If it takes that long to quote, how long is it going to take to do your job?! I agree with CuttingEdgeKitchens in terms of timeline... It would take 6-8 weeks just for the joinery to be manufactured - and that's only after you've signed off on the drawings. I'd be suggesting your works would take 3-4 months to be done properly. Don't be discouraged though.... If you love the area you live in, and like the house but will "love" it with some improvements I think that with the current market conditions you may be better off doing a reno rather than selling up and moving (thinking agent fees, stamp duty, cost of moving house etc etc etc). Keep in mind that without a kitchen, bathroom and laundry you will probably need to move out so don't forget to budget for this too! Good luck and I hope you can find some decent trades to work with. Which company do you work for....are you in the Perth area??? I recently went through a similar renovation and move scenario when updating our family home. We also swapped some rooms around and tackled a major… 2 10654 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6978 2 5499 |
