Family friend. He's pretty darn good though. Straight as a die. Qualified builder who also builds homes. ( Bricklaying background originally) We had him do some work on our last house as we were neighbours for over 10 years. He recently did a stint as a government inspector for the Building Commission, was asked if he wanted to continue there when his contract finished but he preferred to go back to being his own boss and, as he said, being stuck in an office for a lot of the day wasn't his thing. http://www.homeinspectionsperth.com.au/ Re: Recomendations for PCI inspectors in WA NOR? 8Jul 09, 2012 3:10 pm dayow Thanks alt0160, will give them a call. And yep, you can see why I want an inspection. Dexter I sent off an email to BSP and gave them house size and details of the build etc and they wouldn't give me a quote until I told them what suburb I live in! Made my alarm bells go off straight away because in my mind, the suburb shouldn't be relevant. Yeah I was unsure why that was as well...! Maybe travelling costs? Anyway I emailed BCI Firth and their prices are approx $2,500 for a double storey for all stages which includes a follow-up... I'm leaning that way. Re: Recomendations for PCI inspectors in WA NOR? 9Aug 04, 2012 5:32 pm CC101 i am going to use perth building inspections. i have used them at roof stage and happy with them. just be aware that perth building inspections is http://www.prespec.com.au/ and http://www.homeinspectionsperth.com.au/ that I mentioned. I saw on another page CC101 you mentioned their 956...... number so I know that's who you meant. BUT there is also perth building inspections http://www.perthbuildinginspection.com.au/ which is a different company and a different person and has a 1800.... number. It seems ridiculous that the business registration board allowed two different companies with almost the same name in WA. I imagine it causes lots of confusion. Re: Recomendations for PCI inspectors in WA NOR? 11Mar 13, 2013 12:30 pm Just for anyone else reading this, http://www.prespec.com.au and http://www.homeinspectionsperth.com.au/ are the same company that obviously has more than one website. They are both the same company mentioned by kexkez. EDIT: Oops, just realised that kexkez had already pointed that out I’m in a similar position except I’m after sliding 3 stacking doors. I am on a second-story apartment of which the balcony would not adequately fit any bi-fold or… 5 16389 That is a really good attitude Akin to you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I do enjoy watching that tik tok inspector from Victoria but he does go a little… 12 82114 If you are in Victoria you have a statutory right to your own building inspector regardless of builder's consent. No negotiations are required. However the builder will… 1 3119 |
