Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: How much to put in glass/similar shower shelves? 4Aug 04, 2008 5:38 pm We have glass shelves in the corner of our shower recess as I didn't want a metal caddy. They have been fantastic, and are easy to clean (and don't go rusty).
They were made by 'Englefield', and we bought them 8 years ago when we did our bathroom reno. We love them so much we are taking them with us and installing them in the kids shower of our new house. I couldn't tell you how much they were, and I have packed the original catalogue. Looking on their website, it appears they are no longer available. I'll take a pic for you and post it shortly... ...OK, excuse the mess...who can be bothered cleaning when the house won't be standing for much longer! Anyways we didnt spend a great deal on it, not more than $60, I cant remember if we got it at bunnings or if it was the auction place. I am pretty sure I have seen some in bunnings or try the bathroom places...plumtec/reece etc. Re: How much to put in glass/similar shower shelves? 7Aug 05, 2008 9:58 am you can get them from any bathroom shops (eg tradelink etc)
or any glass supplier if you want a special shape we just bought a long one for around $60 you should be able to get cheaper than that though Re: How much to put in glass/similar shower shelves? 8Aug 05, 2008 3:48 pm OH MY GOD, I am having glass shelves if they're only $60!!!!!!! *aghast* lol That's so cheap!
I sort of meant how much would it cost to have someone INSTALL them too, not just buy them. I should have been more clear in my initial question. I LOVE the vanity shelf, just below the mirror. I want one of those too if possible. Love love love love LOVE! How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: How much to put in glass/similar shower shelves? 9Aug 06, 2008 5:33 pm Wouldn't know cost of getting someone to install... DH did ours which he has to fix! I think I would like to get someone professional to do the one in the new house, in case DH stuffs it up
Isn't too hard though, he just drilled a hole and screwed it to the wall. Re: How much to put in glass/similar shower shelves? 10Aug 07, 2008 6:31 pm Hmm...I went on the Tradelink website to look at prices, and was a bit meh to find that the cheapest of these types of shelves was over $80! (for my Gold Coast stores anyway)
I definitely still want them. Who do you get to do the installation? A plumber? Or just a general handyman? How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: How much to put in glass/similar shower shelves? 11Aug 07, 2008 7:09 pm I wouldn't think a plumber would be required as no plumbing is involved here; perhaps a tiler (as it is going onto tiles) but more likely just an experienced handy person can do it themselves. Re: How much to put in glass/similar shower shelves? 12Aug 07, 2008 8:08 pm Aldi has these on sale right now for $14.95.
Corner or rectangular. Iām loving the potential versatility and practicality of a bench seat in a shower. Anyone had one of these done recently? Not sure if they are straight forward and easy… 0 762 Basically. If the shelves are fixed then they will be screwed in just the same as the rest of the carcass. To re move the screws you need to remove that section of… 3 5200 0 9804 |
