Browse Forums Building A New House Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2581Jun 21, 2012 8:59 am Thank you aurorafrog. Yes I did the same. Builder asked me to contact manufacturer (although one of guys at builders office did say he would organise a plumber). Manufacturer said they would need a serial number (even if the system is 2 week old/new). After they get the serial number they organise a technician to be there (you have to be present... timings 9 to 5 Mon to Fri... basically day off of work). The builder also asked us to check the gas pilot light (because of high winds in the last 2 days). But we discovered that there is no pilot light on these new solar hot water units. After we got home in the evening, all we did was to restart the system. Turned the power off, turned the gas supply off, then power ON and then gas supply ON. And it worked. The system started working again. Hope this helps others. Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2582Jun 21, 2012 9:10 am Wanted to post a positive feedback about Aurora. Our landscaping was scheduled for 8 weeks down the line. They finished doing it in 1.5 week. And they have done it well. Thank you. There is no pilot light. It's auto lit up when in used (you can hear tick tick tick..sound like your stove). The easier thing to do is to download a user manual if you haven't got one then it should explain. There are two modules from my observation. The tank is for storing water warmed up through your solar. Then when you open the tap, the water goes through the gas booster, if the temperature is lower than the setting, then the booster will heat up the water. One thing I found is that when using washing machine, the water temperature is always like cold even I set it to 40 degrees or so. It's because the pipe distance between the laundry and the hot water system and the washing machine doesn't need much water (front loader). By the time when the washing machine cut the hot water, it's not or just heat up, so it's always cold wash Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2584Jul 05, 2012 9:39 am Is there anyone on this forum who is from Summerhill? I am in the process of putting a deposit down on a block. Also did anyone have any issues in regards to valuations with the property market drop? Thanks Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2585Jul 05, 2012 10:10 am There is an electronig sign on Craigieburn road, at the Sydney Road end, saying Craigieburn road east will be closed until January 2013. Vicroads shows the following: Craigieburn Road, Wollert Monday 27 February to Tuesday 31 July, 7.00am - 5.00pm Between Epping Road and Vearings Road Lanes closed in both directions as required Traffic will be alternated through the open lane Speed limit reduced to 40km/h Private contractor works Melway: 388 K11 Not sure whats going on or if it's related to the estates but if you travel that way be aware. Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2586Jul 05, 2012 9:29 pm I vaguely remember it's something to do with construction. You can find this information on the Whittlesea leader. Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2587Jul 06, 2012 8:53 am aurorafrog Sus_111 Hi all, This is my second post on this site. Apologies if I have made a mistake. Also I was asked to post on this thread. We have just moved into Aurora Estate. We dont have any television reception. Anyone else having problems ? If you haven't have your internet connected or someone came to connect the TV ports for you, then there is no signals coming through the wall sockets. In that case, you can use rabbit ear type of antenna, but will need a signal amp to get clear picture. Thanks guys for the info. I have had Vic Urban connect the gadgets inside the FTTH box. Now we have television, internet (at good speed) up and running. We were initially told that Vic Urban would take over a month to connect the gadgets. But they did it quickly in 2 weeks. Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2588Jul 18, 2012 11:54 am I drove to Bendigo on Monday and noticed signs saying that Craigieburn Road East was closed at Epping Road. Is it closed until Jan next year? or is it just an intermittent thing. My commute from here to the kids school in Mernda and then to St. Kilda for work is going to be a nightmare if I have to come back through Epping/Cooper St to get onto the Hume Fwy in the mornings. What a nightmare. Anyone with some further info? For your particular question, see http://leader.newspaperdirect.com/epaper/viewer.aspx page 7 'Street Watch' Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2590Jul 20, 2012 5:05 pm Awesome, thanks Aurorafrog. Still confused though. The paper just says that there's some lane closures and traffic will be alternated through the one open lane at 40km/hr but the big flashing signs throughout the Hume Fwy say that Craigieburn Rd East is closed at Epping Road and to take Donnybrook road instead. If it's closed I have a big problem, if it's just one lane at a reduced speed, that's ok. Anyone actually driven along it who knows? Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2591Jul 23, 2012 9:36 pm I heard that there's going to be a new TV channel from Channel 9, a 3D one for the Olympics. Some of my coworkers have already been able to pick up the channel via their TVs, but I did a scan on my 3D-capable TV and it didn't pick up anything. It should come up as channel 95. Has anyone else in the Aurora estate been able to pick up this new channel? Not sure if it's been fed through the optic fibre connection yet. I read somewhere on whirlpool you might need to change your TV setting to MPEG4 and re scan it. Otherwise, give VU a call they might know if they need to configure their equipments. Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2593Jul 31, 2012 4:43 pm Ignore my previous queries re Craigieburn Road. It's completely blocked off so the alternate lanes/reduced speed limit stuff in the paper is not accurate - you can't turn into the road at all. Went via High street/Cooper St one day and then Donnybrook Road the second. Donnybrook was faster... Not sure about the other TV channel, but for anyone with Foxtel you can download the Foxtel app on an ipad and watch all 8 Foxtel channels at once on your ipad. It's pretty cool actually. Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2594Aug 06, 2012 7:15 pm Anyone else confused as to how our council approved the closure of Craigeburn road without some other road being opened prior to allow the extra traffic to get through? Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2595Aug 07, 2012 12:25 pm DamoAu, totally agree. I dont understand how a road can be closed for so long like this without first arranging something else. Oh just go down Donnybrook Road or Cooper Street. I need to go to Craigieburn everyday and it is such a hassel going all the way down to Donnybrook and then all the way back around. Not to mention the extra cost of the petrol Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2596Aug 07, 2012 9:02 pm jpc DamoAu, totally agree. Not to mention the extra cost of the petrol Traffic around here at the moment is shocking. There are too many bottlenecks where you can get stuck for minutes waiting for lights. They really need to open up more links between the estates and Cooper street. Miller st and Epping rd are massive bottlenecks and getting worse. Also need Edgar's rd completed and opening up O'Hearns onto Hume fwy. That's my rant for today. Thanks for reading. Re: LYNDARUM/AURORA/SUMMERHILL ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2597Aug 08, 2012 4:22 pm Due to the abysmal traffic situation in Epping now, we are selling up and moving out of the area. We moved here 4 years ago, and the difference is shocking. It is just getting progressively worse, and will get a lot worse before it gets better - if it even gets any better. Look at all the new houses going up, and nothing at all is been done about the roads. And nothing is planned. It will take years for anything to get off the ground as well. The only thing I can suggest to do if you want to stay is to lobby the local politicians and let them know it is a vote deciding issue. That is, you will vote for the person that has the best and most concrete plan to do something about it. Local politicians are prone to enormous ****** that they are not held to account for. I previously lived in Darebin and the independent candidate promised to extend the Gilbert rd tram. Something that they had no possibility of influencing. It would have got him a couple of votes too. I think the simplest solution would have always been to put conditions to all land developers that roads coming to/from the new estates must be upgraded to suit the amount of land that is expected to be released... Ok yes it would increase the cost of our blocks, but say this cost added 5% to your block.... I would have accepted that at that stage as I could have factored that into our mortgage!
