We are going to use timber posts...Apart from that we have no clue Re: Tierra at Estuary_Our Outdoor Art!!! 183Jun 13, 2012 10:56 am dazandstace Check out their Facebook too as they have more pics of their one off designs. Their new showroom is amazing. I want some stuff made for the interior, not rusted, but powder coated. Need more $$$ too. I've been eyeing off that website for a while ... what is your screen made of so I know what to order? Will look great and your letterbox is very jealous!! For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! I think we'll be known as 'those people with the huge letterbox'...Oops. Looking for a tree for our front yard, this will balance it out, but I am clueless when it comes to trees. I want something pretty, not really big, maybe a deciduous? Or a palm? Looking for suggestions and pics! Can anyone help? Re: Tierra at Estuary_Our Outdoor Art!!! 187Jun 14, 2012 11:47 am Just found out that the energy rating for house is 7.3 stars. The rating was done before we added bushfire requirements so I assume sarking on the roof would also count towards the energy rating. Things like solar hot water, heating & cooling systems don't contribute to the rating as far as I know. I'm happy with 7.3 as our last build was only 5 stars. Re: Tierra at Estuary_Our Outdoor Art!!! 189Jun 14, 2012 1:59 pm Look at gstore.com.au they are in Malvern. Haven't got one yet and won't until we concrete up the side of the side of the house. We have decided to leave it until last now. Re: Tierra at Estuary 190Jun 14, 2012 3:10 pm Nayzv great rating! why is it so high? does it have to do with the double glazed windows? position? One of the reasons we selected the floorplan and block was the layout and orientation. All living areas are north facing Added double glazed windows Increased window dimensions on north side Smaller windows on south side We have made some mistakes and have regretted not doing a few other simple things to help with effiency i.e. lighter colour roof, eaves out the front etc. But we do have a Whirley to release hot air from roof and we will be planting a ducidiuos tree outside of our bedroom window to block the hot afternoon sun in the summer months. We will install a ceiling fan in our bedroom as it will be the hottest room and possibly look at evap cooling down the track. Re: Tierra at Estuary_Our Outdoor Art!!! 191Jun 15, 2012 6:51 pm So an update in regards to the light/heating duct issue, after looking today in better light I could see the placement of the heating duct is where the problem is and it will need to be re-located. Also the downlight in the alfresco is way off and will need to be moved. Grouting is not 100% finished as there is visible gaps in the ensuite shower and tiled skirting. Can't see into the bathroom due to the frosted glass. Would love to see the bath hob tiled. The only work that I can see happened this week is we have our Holland Blinds installed Re: Tierra at Estuary_Our Outdoor Art!!! 192Jun 17, 2012 9:30 pm I caught up on your thread today, lovely to hear the energy rating. 7.3 is a good rating We got 5.8 Stars - However the insulation was based on the Wall 1.5 and Roof 2.5 (According to the plan) When they installed the insulation I upgraded Wall to 2.5 and Roof to 3, Also I insulated my Garage roof and Garage Walls. Wonder if that might have made any difference. Re: Tierra at Estuary_Our Outdoor Art!!! 194Jun 17, 2012 10:26 pm Feeling very romantic about the house today. We bought a beautiful Snow Fountain Weeping Cherry for the front yard. It will let the sun in while dormant in cooler months and shade our bedroom from the sun when it produces the gorgeous cascading flowered branches in spring & summer. I just can't wait to get in! Here's a sweet little poem that reflects my mood today There a brilliant ways to make a home, A welcome place to be. Pebbled paths and fancy lights, A nostalgic place for tea. Shrubbery percisley trimmed, Majestic marble floors. Though nothing is as welcoming, As the love beyond the door. It's almost like your waiting for a baby to be born! Your home will be amazing, I hope I'm feeling the same as you when ours is built. What are they up to now? I'm going through all the emotions... Got all soppy over a tree, I don't know why it means something to me. It's been really hard for us this time not being in our own house for reasons I can't explain. We will know when the build is nearly ready as I'll be posting about ridiculous cleaning episodes I'll be having I haven't been for a look at the house because my youngest has been sick with a virus. I will sneek a peek if there is no trades this morning after kinder drop off. According to My Place website plumbing fixtures have been installed. Re: Tierra at Estuary_Our Outdoor Art!!! 198Jun 19, 2012 9:32 pm Well no plumbing fixtures maybe tomorrow, but Lots to Update... TODAY WE HAVE CARPETS, MIRRORED WARDROBE SLIDERS, SHELVING FOR PANTRY, LINEN & WARDROBES, FLYSCREENS & SCREEN DOOR Actually don't mind the screen door we had to have due to bushfire regs. Doesn't hide my front door too much. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Master Bedroom - Carpet looks a lot lighter than we thought. We went with the lightest they offered in CAT 1 Aged Driftwood, but it really does seem to be a different colour? Anyway it goes with what we've chosen so no problems there.
