Hi Humble. Hope you've settled into your house well. As you know we are building the kallara 33. Can you please take a look at my pic and let me know if your alfresco looks the same in terms of the mortar being so un-even? Cheers http://profile.imageshack.us/user/doreen_kallara33/ Re: Porter Davis homes 5552Jun 07, 2012 4:36 pm Does anyone know which PD homes have the White Glosswood used in them ?? On the Glosswood website it says that PD use their products. Would love to see the white up on ceiling first before ordering. Preferably south side of Melbourne. or has anyone got it in their homes and might be able to answer a few questions for me?? My soil report mentioned drainage is poor so I'm worried the water will pool into the slab during this winter. Thanks Lib Re: Porter Davis homes 5558Jun 08, 2012 2:23 pm Feeling a bit down today. Not feeling confident about our build anymore and it seems we will more than likely have to pull the plug. We were lured in with the promise of $20k off the land. $10k from the developer and $10k from PD and also sweetened with a 5% deposit on the land and developer to pay the deposit on the house. Only to find out after nomination forms were sent out that this was not the case. The nomination forms stated a 10% deposit and after speaking to someone at PD this was confirmed the case. Apparently the 5% was asap and the other 5% was to be at settlement with the discount to apply to the building contract (which I'm assuming is the developer deposit payment). It's still 10% which ever way you look at it but that was definitely not the way it was explained to us. Come to think of it, not much was explained to us in detail. Now I have no issue with the 10% but more the misleading nature in all of this. We worked around the 10% and now are trying to find out the legitimacy of the $20k discount. I'm still awaiting a response from our BC to an email I sent yesterday regarding the issue. Then with the bank valuation in the mix and the high potential for them to under value the property we will more than likely have to call it quits. If it goes under by $10k we will probably be ok but anymore and we are definitely in trouble. There also talk of how any rebates are written in to the contract and their potential to devalue the property. There have been a few other things that were said that now make me question every verbal response I received. When I asked if there were estate/design guidelines I was told not really and not to worry. After doing my research there seems to be quite a few guidelines indeed. Most don't bother me, they still exist and to be told they don't really is a bit disheartening. What else was I mislead to believe when finalising our plans? Were the response to my questions regarding Carbon Tax, Builders Insurance, 6 star energy ratings and other important details all wrong? How would I know? Where do you get a straight answer from? If I had more money backing me it's worth the risk of finding out down the track, but with little capital I can't see how we will manage should massive charges we have not allowed for come into play along with all the other issues. Best of all I have all LONG weekend to stew about it until I get confirmation regarding these issues Re: Porter Davis homes 5559Jun 08, 2012 6:05 pm I'm feeling the same koukli going to talk to Carlisle homes tomorrow as PD have dropped the ball. Quite a few people have said to me that PD are now as bad as Me***con and Carlisle are the old PD. Such a shame to a well respected brand but that's what happens when they think they're too good for us common people Still Waiting for Titles!!!! Re: Porter Davis homes 5560Jun 08, 2012 9:19 pm I'm sorry your not having much luck either Hope you go better with Carlisle. I'm a bit put off with the whole building thing now. I think we might start looking at established again. At least I can see it with my own eyes, see how much yard I'll have and know what I need to pay up front. Scary stuff not knowing.. Finally got a reply from our BC at 4.50pm and it was just to say she needs to take it up with her supervisor and will get back to me next week Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 13891 I would never build with Fowler homes.
