But, one salesman at a display home said to us (me and my husband) "if you want to build with us, you need money" !!! I didn't mind his comment that much, but DH never walked into that display home again, and needless to say, we didn't build with them. And your reply should have been, if you want a job you need customers. Re: A question for all the women out there... 17Jul 31, 2008 3:06 pm neri Seriously, I now say to the agent: "I'm under orders to shut up". I think they find the situation a little disconcerting. How hilarious. Makes me realise how difficult I must make it for DH . Your partner and I have a lot in common lol. Our builder was the salesman and did a great job of engaging both of us. Just as well as I wouldn't put up with the alternative . To say you guys do not need a study is ludicrous, firstly you are aprofessionsl hence have definite need, he is RAAF aso no dought will be studying , I know I spent 5 years studying engineering and awhole range of other courses and we converted one of the bedrooms in the MQ into a study. Yes, contrary to public opinion RAAFies do study etc! My partner is all the time "on course" it is a huge assumption... Quote: Oh by the way we sacked him and now have a female sales consultant who is handling our account. We had a lot of trouble with various arrogant sales people in the beginning and we decided to do business with sales people nearly two hours from our house just so we could be satisfied at least with not being spoken to like we don't know anything (we are building for the first time)...guess what she is a woman! We looked past the fact that she was only new in the job as she sits with an experienced sales person, what we go to her for is at least she has pleasant service Quote: who are you thinking of building with? We are building with Perry Homes the seville 290 with some modifications, my partner is away with all the photos of our block on his camera phone at the moment. Our plans are just about to go into council if Head office pull their finger out!!!! Although, if you read one of my other posts "cold feet" I am slightly concerned about whether we are doing the right thing, although I am thinking the experience of building a home can be so exciting (fingers crossed) so I think we will just through caution to the wind!!! Good to meet an ex-Raafie! Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do!
