I agree ... I think most of us think that and so many of us are let down .. What can I say... Week 14 was lockup invoice (98 days).... my build is now in week 37 (250+ days) and still no PCI date or approximate completion date... 150+days of what? seriously... someone dropped the ball but I'm the one who's left forking out rent and interest each month because of it. Re: Porter Davis homes 5359May 17, 2012 10:55 am J & C Our Admin Final Variation list has the completion days as 190 days (base contract = 161 +variation = 29). The construction letter we received from our BC has 218 day on it. Which one is correct ? Question: how long does it normally take to build a 30 sq single storey house ? Hi J & C, It depends where you are in the process. From deposit to site start date, it usually about 6 weeks - 10 weeks by the time you make all your selections, sign your contracts etc… Then its approximately 20 weeks (on a standard house plan with no changes) from the date construction begins. PD build times are in accordance with the HIA building contract and is guaranteed at 20 weeks for a standard single storey house plan. (FROM WHEN CONSTRUCTION BEGINS?) Please keep in mind that these things that can affect the length of the construction period so when we say 'guarantee' this is based on everything that it is in our control: • public holidays • bad weather • land availability • the complexity, size and inclusions you choose • Whether your land is settled and ready to build on This is our procedure of purchase which may help you, we have one for our Access Range and one for Lifestyle and Prestige ranges - http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#/aboutus I hope this helps.
