Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 16, 2012 1:16 pm Hi all, Currently putting in retaining walls etc in my back garden - and want to start prepping for my lawn. All the guides i can find talk about killing weeds using a "normal" weed-spray, such a round up - which im all good with. They then go onto talking about using a pre-emergent weed spray.... i have found a bew brands around the web, but the local hardware stores (bunnings/mitre 10) do not seem to stock any of these - and asking the staff leads to a blank look. Is there something im missing here? are they not available to the public? or do i need to go somewhere a bit more specialised ? Re: Pre-emrgent weed killers 2May 16, 2012 5:41 pm Dont bother with a pre emergent herbicides. They are more for professionally managed landscapes than domestic gardens. They require a chem users certification to apply under most circumstances as they can cause serious injury to surrounding vegetation and runoff into nearby properties if applied incorrectly. If you must, then hire someone who knows what they are doing. Otherwise just treat the weeds after they pop up. It would achieve a pretty low rent as it's… 0 13837 The fastest thing a builder will do is bank your cheque, those systems work perfectly with lightning speed, everything else is slow burn. Just the way it is. 1 8821 |
