We would like to bath the baby in there, so the plastic (I think they call it polymer) may feel nicer.
We bathed our bub in a stainless steel laundry trough until he outgrew it - he never complained
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis homes 5229May 02, 2012 10:22 pm Not sure how long they can keep charging you once the contract has been signed by raising new PCV's probably some other may share more light on this. We had our construction drawing appointment the other day and were informed that no further changes will be permitted, in you case if the construction has begun I don't see it likely that they will allow to make any more changes. Re: Porter Davis homes 5230May 03, 2012 12:09 am I really think it depends on whether the PCV assists PD as to whether or not it's allowed. I have 8 separate documents with over 23 variations over an 8 month period. Most are relating to requests that were discussed and agreed to before contract but missed out of the final contract signing, then that final final contract several months later. The later ones were requests to delete things so I can install them later. I do understand that most variations, although usually minor just and they 'could' probably do them easily involve so much admin to ensure all documents are up to date. We know they get things wrong when they aren't changed. Sadly if you want to change one or two items only, you're penalised by those people that change their mind every week (if they were allowed) - so the line has to be drawn somewhere. I also have had many many things go wrong with documentation and processes so I think my BC has added a few to keep the peace. But at some point we all think of things we missed, or get more money and can now upgrade, but have missed the boat. Just add later, or save them for you next build. I mean if we all knew what we now now... ! I have also updated my copy of the final drawings and highighted any changes on the plan and the variation number so I can give the evidence later if they forget something. And I have listed all variations by room so I am prepared for PCI which should soon. Good luck all Mikey Porter Davis homes 5232May 03, 2012 6:36 am Care to share any humble? Just so we know what to keep an eye out for? We moved last Fri but the SS is out again tomorrow trying to get things fixed that were missed. To his credit he certainly hasn't brushed us off since paying/moving in. Anybody that got home theatre pre wiring, does it come with an additional power point? Re: Porter Davis homes 5233May 03, 2012 11:16 am Sencillez & J&C, we made 2 PCV after contrsutcion has started. We changed our counter tops in the kitchen to a different colour of ceasar and realised our kitchen draws were left off the final drawings which were at the cabinet makers being cut. Both were not at additional costs to us. PD did a PCV adding additional tiles throughout the house as it was initally misss calulated by National. Looks like I have to add 2-3 weeks onto my build which will put it into the penalty zone for sure. Hi Zinner, I’m sure it might take a few days for the your SS to get across your build but it sounds like they already on top of things with the tile issue. Be sure to keep your BC informed on how things are going. I hope everything runs smoothly for you, please keep me updated on your progress. Cheers, Ebony Porter Davis Homes Questions? Re: Porter Davis homes 5236May 03, 2012 12:01 pm J & C Team PD J & C Has anyone installed a video intercom system? We are looking at a Samsung or Mobotix ? Has anyone else used video intercoms made by these companies. Samsung quoted us $699+$399 for an additional monitor. Is this a good price. Hi J & C, Hopefully you’ll get some responses from the forum members but also feel free to ask your BC, they might have advice about prices and suppliers. Good luck with getting it sorted. Cheers, Ebony Thanks Ebony, It will be a good thing if PD has Samsung Video Intercom's on their rewards program. Hi J & C, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve forward your comments onto the main PD office, it’s a great suggestion, hopefully they’ll be able to look into it.
