Regards, Grumbles Re: Kiwis home: Moved in & lovin it ~ O'did I tell u..I LUV 2484Apr 24, 2012 10:43 pm grumblebum54 When my eldest was in his mid teens he brought a new friend home whose mum was Australian and father Vietnamese. OMG he was the most handsome thing I had ever seen and I loved it when he came to visit and I always found something to chat about with him. He probably thought I was an old hag!! That is so funny! My ex boyfriend (I think ex ex ex x3) was half Australian and half Indonesian and just to die for. Anyway, my mum did just that (drool, talk about anything and everything, tease, laugh at all the non jokes, etc) and they became best of friends. That ex and I are actually really good mates now, and he went to Byron a few weeks ago with his new wife and guess what - stayed with my mum. She was so happy! I think it is kinda cool. I confess I love tall skinny windows! (I managed to squeeze one into our foyer, but would have had many more if I could). T ps: I just realised that you posted about your actual building stuff! I am surrounded by imbeciles nar, not like oz. tops of 32 on a good day. average day is 25 in summer, but there is a bit of wind so we wanted to use it. didnt want a heat pump (it can be quite still, and humid too..but only about 5 days a year..hence getting a pool for summer, that is now packed away) and didnt want fans. wanted to use the breezes we are semi tropical here. not as hot and humid as syd....same as kangaroo valley really, same lattitude as them. Scenery is similar but we are warmer and wetter than the south island of nz up here. we also have lourves at the front door....ask me why t? why nic? cos it faces south (the front door) and we live in the country..ie flies, so with louvres the flies dont seem to come inside as much as the door opened would ..and we get the cool summer breeze and we have huge stackers that the front door breeze can head out of...(they face nor east, so we get morning sun. but only till 10 in summer and all winter ) so it is always cool, but not really windy. see, I copied everyones ideas!! Re: Kiwis home: Moved in & lovin it ~ O'did I tell u..I LUV 2494Apr 25, 2012 5:18 pm we get flies through the stackers though!!! but they fly straight out the kitchen window.. man, hadnt thought of flies when building.
