I have been looking for a new lounge and havnt found one in the colour I want yet so I am thinking of doing this.
I just saw some lovely fabric in spotlight that would go great with the fabric holland blinds in my family room.
Hubby thinks it will be to big a job.
I have got the idea that if I remove the old fabric piece by piece, writing down and numbering the pieces as I go, I can then use the old cover as a pattern then recover putting the pieces back on from the last piece I took off ect.
This is the gamble, Problems could be....
To have more of an idea of how much fabric I would need I need to take off old fabric, then the new fabric is $20 a meter so maybe at a rough estimate I could need 20 to 25 meters.
I have to hope by the time I remove all the fabric they still have enough new fabric in the store.
It is on special for $15 a metre until thursday but wont get it done by then. but could wait to see if it comes on special again.
Also if I cant end up doing the job we will have a lounge that I cant sell. As it is I may get around $350 for it and that could go to a new lounge suite instead.
So I could end up loosing around $800 but if it does work I have a new look lounge in the fabric I like for $400.
What would you do???????
If I keep the old lounge I have also saw some nice curtain material I could make pelmets and cusions with to tie in the colours.
At the moment my lounge is blue and the rest of the colours are like cadbury top deck
I did do a canvas print in chocolate and blue to try and tie in the lounge suite to the room a bit more what do you think?
I will try and upload photos.
