Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 04, 2012 12:18 am Hi, does anyone have these benchtops? They look amazing, wondering how much more expensive they are than ordinary formica or laminex. Got to be much cheaper than granite. I love the golden mascarello. Re: New Formica FX 180 benchtops 2Apr 04, 2012 2:03 pm I've just been told by Laminex/formica that the sheets are about $50-80 more than standard, probably this was wholesale as I called an outlet not the showroom.
So far the colour range is limited to 6 colours. Sadly my favourite, the golden mascarello is not "out" yet. Silver travertine is my next fave. It's certainly a cost effective and beautiful benchtop for those who can't afford the extra for corian, essastone, granite etc. So, has anyone else been tempted by it yet? I wanted a marble bench but too porous (sp) and too $$$$ but this..........wow! wont be having white granite in the future (looks like marble) if this is just as good!! There are a lot more colours available in USA, wonder how long it will take for them to get here.... I can still change my kitchen selections, & my darling wants to view the samples in person- so fingers crossed! A person needs to be licensed to offer financial advice.
