I'm sorry you are not in the estate as yet, but you don't need to be a resident to come along on Saturday night and have some fun... It's a gppd way to meet people... Would love to but sorry I live an hour drive away... Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2450Mar 24, 2012 9:47 am Hey guys, Just a public service announcement I guess, very often in the morning when I drive out of the estate to drive to work, I see a stray dog running around through the parkland. This is very dangerous in the mornings when there is not much light (I'm talking about 7am here), especially now with winter approaching. The dogs I see are usually excited and are running around chasing after cars or just darting across the road - something that actually happened to me yesterday morning at Lyndarum Dr / Manor House Dr roundabout where a large pit bull was actually sprinting down the road and almost ran right in front of my car - luckily I avoided it. People, PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOGS ENCLOSED ON YOUR PROPERTY. No one wants to start their day off with either running over someone else's pet, or waking up to the news that their beloved family pet has been killed because it wasn't kept properly on their property. Thanks. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2452Mar 27, 2012 6:29 pm varta Hi Guys I have been reading this forum for sometime now. Moved to Aurora 7 months back. Just wanted to know if any of the residents lodge official complain to VCAT against their builder and does it really help?? We are getting ignored by our builder(TH) for last 7 months. From the day we moved in. He promised to finish little bit of remaining work after we move in and after our numerous calls and emails, we are finally thinking about complaining. Enough is enough. We went to VCAT for about the same issues like a leak in roof and some unfinished work which the builder did not do according to plan. It did help us but make sure you have documentary evidence to prove your point. Take photos of unfinished work etc.etc. I was however surprised that the surveyor, VCAT and the builder reps knew each other very well, just like old mates! Must be meeting very regularly! Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2453Mar 27, 2012 6:42 pm varta Also is anyone complaining to Council regarding garbage and other dumping in open ground around broadleaf/rockfield.?? Residents have made that area their official dumping ground. It looks disgusting. Its a shame that other Aurora and Lyndarum residents are doing this in their own estate. We are complaining to council on regular basis but empty promises and no work yet.. I guess we are the only one bothered by this. Council asked us to note down number plates and give it to them so they can issue some legal notices and fines. We have formed a small group who are noting all the number plates and about to hand them out to council. I request to all the residents, please don't throw your garbage in common areas. Have some sympathy for people who are living in front of that. You are not alone! I have complained to council as well, initially when we complained the came once to pick a big dump that was placed right next to our house, but I guess they have sort of given up. Just noticed one more old tele yesterday dumped on the nature strip, not to mention the old mattresses on the train corridor. This Sunday night some drunk hoons ran over the street light pole and broke it along with the wire fence, and our nature stip is full of tyre marks. Not very happy with Aurora estate. Will post the pics of pole if I can. Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2454Mar 29, 2012 1:46 pm Govt publishes list of suburbs to be NBN'd by 2015. Neither Aurora, Lyndarum or Epping North are in the list http://nbnco.com.au/rollout/about-the-r ... t.html#vic Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2455Mar 29, 2012 4:06 pm "Epping North" is actually Wollert for all intents and purposes - you're not on the list that was just released because you were already on the greenfields estate rollout list that was released back in january. There is already NBN activity scheduled in your area: http://www.nbnco.com.au/rollout/rollout ... +Australia Happier now? Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2456Mar 29, 2012 7:52 pm i just spent 3 grand to get my house NBN ready and just found out they donno when they gona come to my stage, telstra even said they wont be releaseing any plans until 2020, i think big mistake wasting all that money on it Re: LYNDARUM / AURORA ESTATES: Epping, Victoria 2457Mar 30, 2012 7:42 am cmhamilton "Epping North" is actually Wollert for all intents and purposes - you're not on the list that was just released because you were already on the greenfields estate rollout list that was released back in january. Aurora has already got fiber so I don't know what extra work will require. Might just be connection to the NBN backbone and adjustment? The NBN is fibre and you didn't get it as a telstra smart community as far as I can tell (unless Aurora is the development tagged as "Wollert"). Essentially Lyndarum and Aurora are the same thing (they are next to each other) - while the rollouts are tagged as being at one point (think of it as the nominal connection point to the backbone) they actually cover the surrounding area. If Aurora is not a telstra smart community then your current fibre network must have resulted from the NBN greenfields rollout - the NBN backbone is hooked up nearby so I suspect that it shouldn't be horribly difficult to hook everything up for your estates as well. Again the recent press release was indicating "new" areas for NBN rollout - with existing fibre infrastructure already in place and/or under construction nearby the rollout is already happening in your part of the country, so be happy. Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs. Thanks for the info. The fiber network in Aurora is not telstra smart community. It's controlled and owned by Places of Victoria (former VicUrban) which is a government charter. I do hope there won't be too much hassle to connect to NBN. However, given the history of how things get done which involved lengthy process and politics, I am not holding my breath.
