Her communication/interaction with clients are below my expectation and I'm also thinking to go with either Wisdom or EBH. Hi Apue I'll be checking out EBH too. They have a couple of new display homes (new designs) that recently opened at Homeworld 5 Kellyville. Unfortunately, although they have listed the house on their website they haven't put the plans up yet - when I click on the link I get an error message. I've sent emails to their webmaster but they bounce back and a couple via their contact page but nothing has been done about it. The displays are not far from where I live so I'll just go there and have a look at the real thing. Good luck with your search! Re: ALKIRA Homes 18May 15, 2012 10:30 am Hi All, I have been reading all your posts re Alkira for a few months now and I just had to join the blog to convey my thoughts with Alkira. We have been trying to build a home with them for 8 or 9 months now and we still aren't through council. I have never met a company that is so frustrating and makes continual mistakes. I agree with other posts that VC is probably the main problem, with continual untruths and constantly telling you want you want to hear but not is what is actually occurring. We have paid $15,000 to Alkira but we are considering losing the lot and going elsewhere. We were just informed that the price has increased by $28K but they will discount it to us for $12K. All the way up to this point it was a fixed price! Now their designs are great and the quality seems excellent but the frustration with dealing with their administration is just becoming too much. Building a new home is always a stressful exercise but this is over and beyond what I would normally expect. My advice, for what it is worth, don't build with Alkira. Re: ALKIRA Homes 19May 15, 2012 1:57 pm Cruiser385, Sorry to hear that... I actually have seen their house in Bella Vista, newly built , last year. The finishing was really similar to Wisdom homes. At the end of the day, communication is very important when you build. Good luck! Re: ALKIRA Homes 20Jun 19, 2012 9:53 am We built with Alkira Homes and would never do it again. Cruiser385, we had the same experience as you with our plans. Alkira actually botched our plans up the first time and then made us pay to have them re-done. It took us many more months after this to get an approval despite going through the new complying development guidelines which should have shortened the time frame. We love our home but we had numerous issues from day 1. In the end we had to get Fair Trading involved and it was such a horrible and emotional experience. The great thing is Fair Trading turned up and found many other issues with the building that Alkira then had to attend to. I would never, ever build with them again and I would never recommend them to anyone. Do yourself a favour, save yourself the grief we went through and find another builder. It really shouldn't be as difficult as it was for us. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74700 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 105532 Hi there!
