Hi all, sorry to hear about the recent spate of thefts. It's an awful feeling to have stuff stolen almost right under your nose.

I bought a CCTV system recently, but can't find a sparkie who is willing to help install cables within the roof cavity. Does any one know of a good sparkie who can help me? Thanks!

Just a heads up (repeating what others have posted in the past) that there are people who go around every couple of nights testing whether cars on the street are locked and, if not, picking them clean. Nothing stolen that is hard to sell (tools etc), but coins and, strangely, my chewing gum.

They turn the inside car lights off too so they can rummage discretely.

And if anyone saw a hooligan walking through the estate between 10pm and 5am carrying a rattling ash tray and chewing Extra chewing gum, please let me know

Same here, got my Tomtom and my Ipod charger stolen from car last Friday.

Did they break your car's window to steal your Tom Tom and Ipod? was the car's alarm set off? I am worried as I always park my car outside. Cheers, Stephen

Hi Stephen, I left my car unlocked, so the alarm did not went off...

Just wanted to inform everyone that I am running a family day care in Williams Landing and have got vacancies at the moment for new children. Family day care is being run from my home and includes before and after school care, long day care, occassional care, vacation care, weekend care. I had Brendan come and do my front lights and help with some inside roof speakers. Very professional. My other attempts to get sparkies out to my place were a waste of my time as none seemed interested unless it was 3+ days work.

I am so sick with the dog's pee on my letter box and dog's poo on the turf in front of my house. I took the poo away quite a few times and clean the letter box twice.

Also the box for covering the watering system in front of my garden got stolen. Last year a termite box got stolen.

I want to cry..

Last Friday, six houses got broken into in WL. I spoke to the police and confirmed the same. Police are not doing much apart from saying that people need to get security alarm.

I enquired previously about land prices in Williams Landing, but it doesn’t seem like anyone has any idea unfortunately as I didn’t hear back.
Anyway from what everyone is posting it appears like there are a significant number of theft incidents in Williams landing so I am not sure if it is a safe area.

Just like in all other new estate areas, point cook, tarneit, wyndham vale etc., new houses are always easy targets for thefts.

Our monitored security alarm was about $1,100 a few years ago and included 5 pet-friendly sensors, on/off dongles for your keyring, security pad, own power source, zone control etc etc.

The way I figure, a theif will ALWAYS pick a house without an alarm over one with an alarm and if it saves you from one robbery then it has already paid for itself (break in = house insurance deductible, unrecoverable cost of new goods and the time/effort/inconvenience involved).

Some alarm places will even let you do 12 month finance. Just shop around.

Hi We are moving new to WL and want to know which new landline and Broad band to get connected to, Hadda chat with Telstra customer care and they charging $299 for new connection

Suggestions please....

It's probably as it's a new connection - needs some element of wiring done, not just jumpering at the exchange. You could try another telco such as TPG (or another who uses Telstra lines). I'm tipping you won't get out of that $299.00 connection charge!
