Happy with the way things are coming together? We started bricks yesterday, and have to go back on-site this morning (SS called yest) to specify the placement of the front door handle, as we told him that we're very particular about where it goes, so best to be there when the guy does it. What a legend!! Sparkies in today and insulation Friday. Pre-plaster independent inspection booked for Friday... Agree with Alpal about the saw dust, will go thru when brickies finish and all rough ins complete. Picked up 3 slabs last night, one for the brickies, one for the sparkies and one for our SS... Gotta keep the wheels greased Great progress Rups - yours is speeding along. What date did they give you for handover? Ours is early July but I suspect yours will be earlier... Rups your tradies would definitely be happy campers! It's a great idea and gesture:) Unfortunately the time i get down there it's a ghost town! I am looking forward to looking at both your blogs! We went by our place on Saturday looked fantastic we have cabinets in the kictehn, bathrooms and laundry and we are really happy with our colour choices! One bad thing we run over a tape of screws and had to change our type which is now at the shop wither being fixed or replaced- but most likely replaced at there where 4 screws! We wont be parking in front of our house again! lol Hi Sammyjane31, Oh no, I’m sorry to hear about your tyre, that’s a bit of bad luck. I look forward to seeing some pics of your newly installed cabinets, the photos from your last blog post to now will really showcase the progress. Cheers, Ebony Porter Davis Homes Questions? Both the long full length gap on the left in line with the windows and the small gap every 3 bricks along the bottom? I have noticed it in some houses around the estate especially PD ones but not all. Porter Davis homes 4560Feb 14, 2012 10:26 pm The long gap is an expansion joint, your house would destroy itself over the course of a year without them, you should have a few all up. There will be a caulking compound put on there in due course to fill it. The small holes are called weep holes, again they are there for a purpose. Mainly for when your house is sad........ Seriously, they serve to allow the air in the wall space to breathe in effect, drains condensation I think. Wow that is terrible about the insurance! I guess ideally proof of insurance should be provided prior to first deposit but I'd imagine they would refuse to be out of… 17 14241 There isn't any need to.
