Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis homes 4547Feb 12, 2012 6:08 pm Matthew83 Thanks for all the support and suggestions, I have emailed my SC who has been extremely helpful in the past so I'll await her reply on the issues with the BC. I have also asked about the Style Republic 2012 promotion to see if that can be applied to me as I seem to be paying a small fortune for extras which are now included in the latest promotion, for example the previous promotion was $8000 dollars worth of value whereas now it's $28,000 dollars worth of extras at no extra cost, that's a rather large difference. After having read through the terms and conditions I can't see any reason why this can't be applied so fingers crossed PD will come to the party on that one, I'll definitely be keeping you all posted to let you know how I get on this week. Matt Got a phone call this afternoon, on a Sunday at 5:00pm from the SC; shows that she is dedicated to helping resolve the situation. I will have a resolution on Monday for the BC and may possibly be assigned a new one, but as long as the communication problem is fixed I'm not fussed. As for the new Style Republic 2012 promotion I can switch over to it but since the house price has apparently risen $15,000 since November I would end up paying slightly more with the choices I have included. Good news is just from the estimates the SC could see, everything will all scrape just within the budget! I'm a happy camper now Matt Porter Davis homes 4548Feb 12, 2012 8:36 pm tstr1a Rups tstr1a
ok great. we are also getting 2740 ceilings but wanted to make sure it was $3718 so thats confirmed . We also increased our door heights coz i think high ceilings with high doors looks great Increased door height (2340mm) cost us $96 extra per door. It’s a must with high ceilings otherwise the doors look odd. We didn't extend our door heights T, we found it made them look too narrow/elongated, especially in the bedroom passageway of our display. We did extend the height of our bifolds from 2100mm to 2340mm How much did it cost to increase the height of the bi folds? Your house is going to come out beautiful, I can tell that you guys have good taste
Hey T, Sorry for the late reply. The cost to increase the 5 leaf bifold door's height was $990 and for the 4 leaf $701. Re: Porter Davis homes 4549Feb 13, 2012 6:22 am I am just about to have my PCI inspection (tomorrow) and was at my house yesterday after they had cleaned the site and noticed a couple of hairline cracks that appear on the garage floor. There are about 3 or 4 which run from the internal door to the garage door. The cracks are in the slab, but should I be worried. Gren Re: Porter Davis homes 4550Feb 13, 2012 11:06 pm OK - Heres my Monday update... Brickwork finished, electrical and heating cooling rough ins done. Suspect will be locked out tomorrow - hope I get another few days. Spent about 1.5 hours cleaning all the sawdust from the framing - if you dont clean it they just plaster over the top. Blogs been updated.... Happy with the way things are coming together? We started bricks yesterday, and have to go back on-site this morning (SS called yest) to specify the placement of the front door handle, as we told him that we're very particular about where it goes, so best to be there when the guy does it. What a legend!! Sparkies in today and insulation Friday. Pre-plaster independent inspection booked for Friday... Agree with Alpal about the saw dust, will go thru when brickies finish and all rough ins complete. Picked up 3 slabs last night, one for the brickies, one for the sparkies and one for our SS... Both the long full length gap on the left in line with the windows and the small gap every 3 bricks along the bottom? I have noticed it in some houses around the estate especially PD ones but not all. Porter Davis homes 4560Feb 14, 2012 9:26 pm The long gap is an expansion joint, your house would destroy itself over the course of a year without them, you should have a few all up. There will be a caulking compound put on there in due course to fill it. The small holes are called weep holes, again they are there for a purpose. Mainly for when your house is sad........ Seriously, they serve to allow the air in the wall space to breathe in effect, drains condensation I think. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12320 Ask for references and speak to them.
