Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 201Dec 08, 2011 1:13 pm bummer... the rain needs to go somewhere its needed. Glenmore Ridge is well watered mother nature. Our windows went in today.. yipee. Very happy with the sizes, colour and love the massive window we will have where the stair case will be! I am big on natural light into the house and even at the back with the two stacker doors and large windows we should get some lovely sunlight... I was impresses by how tidy the wisdom workers have been thus far, yesterday they went in and cleaned up the site pretty well. Plumber and bricks next. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 202Dec 08, 2011 3:06 pm we will move in before jazz in the park happens, its cursed, we are almost at lock up now, Gyprock starts tomorrow, how long is everones builders taking off over xmas? i think mine takes 2 weeks, Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 203Dec 08, 2011 7:48 pm Ours is about 2 weeks which is pretty good, when we built 12 years ago with Masterton Homes all trades shut down for a full 6 weeks. When is everyone due to move into their homes.. what is the suggested move in date by your builder. Ours is end March/Early april. But we will see about that one. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 204Dec 11, 2011 9:36 am Well our home is progressing well, waffle pods were put in yesterday along with the steel. Hopefully the slab gets laid this week. Would be nice to hear from someone from McDonald Jones and our site supervisor. Have not heard anything. We just drive past and see things have happened. We are suppose to have 2 SS one for the initial part which is almost done once the slab is down and then one for the rest of the build. So we have no idea when the build is expected to be finished. Going to get in touch with them this week to see why we haven't been contacted about anything. Plus we were suppose to get SMS updates at each stage... Anyway besides the lack of communication it is good to see it all progressing quickly. Can't see a frame before Christmas but just gives the slab more curing time I suppose if it is laid this week. Richard - yours is coming along nicely. Also the house behind us looks to be at lockup stage soon. Their roof was finished over the weekend. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 205Dec 11, 2011 10:32 pm I know the feeling CamKat! We were surprised to find our slab poured sometime over the weekend but we didn't receive any sms notification. We're tracking pretty much the same time as you! With all this rain about though it's delayed us a bit already. It took almost 4 weeks to get to this stage but hopefully it quickly unfolds from now on….that's if the stupid rain takes a hike! Esther & Tim http://lot211glenmoreridge.blogspot.com/ Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 206Dec 12, 2011 8:42 am Yes we went past your block and saw the slab had been poured. We also noticed another McDonald Jones across the road who are at the same stage as us, so when we drive past on our way to our block and see what they are up to we figure ours will be the same Have you heard from your SS? I was hoping the slab would get poured this week but now with all this rain I can't see it happening but you never know. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 207Dec 12, 2011 9:00 am Ess and Tim - yay for a slab! Cam and Kat - I do hope they get it down for you this week. The good part is the fame does not take too long and they seem to do it in the rain. Us, the brickies were supposed to start sometime this week, mind you there have not been any bricks delivered yet... but with the rain I seriously doubt anything will happen. So so sick of the rain! Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 208Dec 12, 2011 9:48 am Hi All, we had some bad news this morning, copper stealing c#n@% have been in my house, does anyone know if stocklands are providing guards over the holidays? Richard Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 209Dec 12, 2011 9:53 am Hey Richard. That's no good. I wonder if any other houses got done, as there are alot at a similar stage to you. They need electric fences around the houses! Low lifes! Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 210Dec 12, 2011 10:56 am Richard, that is not good. I worry too about damage etc. I have just contacted Stockland to see if they will give us some security over christmas. Will let you know the outcome. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 211Dec 13, 2011 8:56 am Went past the block last night for the usual drive by and noticed they did do some work yesterday! More form work around the garage and front porch and some steel rods sticking out of the ground. Hoping that the slab is down today seeing as though the weather is nice... Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 213Dec 22, 2011 7:48 pm Richard, great news almost there already! How quick has your build been? We have not yet looked at any fencing, we have 5 neighbours so will have to contend with a bit to get it sorted. For us our Bricks started this week so I am very happy! Cannot wait to see them done and cleaned. I hope everyone has a fab christmas - next year most of us will be in our homes yipee!!! then it will be the fun of christmas lights and instead of checking out everyones builds... checking out the christmas lights instead - lol! Its been great getting to know everyone this year and I look forward to the fun that will come for next year!!!!! Its tough building a house but the support here has been fantastic! Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 214Jan 13, 2012 7:57 am bump. how was everyones break? have your builders started back yet? i have seen frames delivered across the road from me, it will be good to see it when it goes up, still no new work on my side on tall trees drive, the painter has started at my place, so not long now, painting/tiles/carpet/driveway/fitting and then i am done! Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 215Jan 13, 2012 8:44 pm Hi all... welcome to our most exciting year - when we all get to move in!!! Scaffolding went up yesterday. Brickies should return Monday and finish the brickwork by the end of next week. I cannot wait to see the bricks in the real... I have been sent photos by some very kind people to keep me updated. Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 216Jan 14, 2012 1:31 pm What an exciting few months ahead!!! Our bricks should go up next week as all the prep work is complete!! We're still not sure if the block next door was sold as there's no sign of building….. different story for the rest of the suburb….there's homes popping up more and more each day!! Wonder if Bradley Street will open this year??? So much for April 2011 http://lot211glenmoreridge.blogspot.com/ Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 217Jan 15, 2012 12:27 pm Bit of an update from us. Frame is delivered and should go up this week. So then it won't be long until the roof, plumbing and bricks are done The site has been cleaned up from the slab work and they levelled the land out some more and have taken all the rubbish away ready for the next lot. Looking forward to the next few months to see the progression. Cleaning out our garage this week to clear out all the junk from over the years so we don't take it with us Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 219Jan 17, 2012 1:42 pm Richard, we are yet to look into it any further. We will still be a while away from keys so we were just waiting it out. Anyone have some recent pics of the estate they want to share. I have been unable to get to the block for a few weeks now and wondering how our streets are coming along. Did anyone see the promo stockland are doing for new land buyers with power... would have been nice to get something like that when we all bought.. oh well thats what you get for being in the first stages... Re: Anyone else building in Glenmore Ridge? 220Jan 17, 2012 9:57 pm Our bricks started today!! YAY!! Our frame will quickly disappear & our house will take shape! I'm enjoying the daily drive by and taking photos so I'm happy to send you some of the whole estate Cass. You'll be amazed at quickly your street has transformed even in the 1 week the tradies have been back from their break. Yeah I saw the brochure advertising free power…..what a shame we didn't get any free perks! I would've loved a shopping voucher…I'm looking forward to buying new funky furniture for our house. I also noticed that Glenmore Ridge will be having an outdoor movie night on Sat 11th Feb in Jacaranda Park!! Fingers crossed this event isn't rained out like all the previous attempts. http://lot211glenmoreridge.blogspot.com/ Es & Tim A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor.
