It seems we have run out of bricks to complete the top floor - Hopefully not huge issue to order and get it done. - Still not sign of Roof tiles - If next week is missed, we may have to wait until January for roof for top floor, which equals more flooding inside Anyone else building a double storey with Burbank have this concern? **Hope to hear back from the SS if it is possible to get the roof tiles before Christmas Shutdown. Lets hope the roof gets done. There is still four more days. Re: Building our House Orchid 4200 with Burbank 6Dec 16, 2011 1:37 pm Thanks Dazandstace & Owsome, We all will be sharing the UPs and DOWNs of building with Burbank for the next few months. I will keep posted when the roof goes on. @Owsome: It will be interesting to compare build time between Orchid 4200 and Forrester (Not many Burbank double Storey Building threads?) Pretty happy with the roof tile selection looks great. I also noticed the Solar Panels for the hot water unit has been installed as well. Flat roof for the Alfresco and some part of the house will be installed after the holidays. Few issues I noticed: We have a broken Window down stairs - wonder how that happened. Leaking tap next to the hot water unit - when the scaffold went up must have had a minor accident. Out of bricks to complete top floor Will be posting pics soon of the roof. With tiles and bricks I found it hard to imagine how they will look when on the house during colour selection but I reckon it must be satisfying to see they look great when they are now on the house. Re: Building our House Orchid 4200 with Burbank 10Dec 27, 2011 10:30 pm It is nice to have most of our roof before Christmas. Our colour selection were based on the Burbank colour boards. I only upgraded the roof tiles. Internal colour board - vanilla ( changed floor tiles) External colour board - urban (changed roof tiles - I wanted black) Orchid 4200 with Burbank: Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53034 House Built in 7 Months and 2 weeks Re: Building our House Orchid 4200 with Burbank 11Dec 28, 2011 7:14 pm congrts on getting your house underway, we are building the fairfax ( if we ever get there) having issues with siting due to non responsive neighbours....lol very strange situation noone ever there and no response to any contact attempts ...we are thinking its a drug house lol snooping around and only mail going uncollected for weeks and garbage bins going in and out ....very strange other neighbours never see anyone there either.....spooky. we only want to move our house 400mm closer to footpath but this is holding everything up grrrrr anyway back the main issue of building we are in pakenham and after going through many weekends of travelling far and wide to view displays we walked through the new one in cranbourne and loved the house we were settled on the ascent before hand but felt this one left it for dead lol colours selection went well a couple of months ago and although we spent a "little" more it will be worth it good luck with your building will be interested to keep an eye on your progress and hopefully see some on our block...... cheers gremlin Re: Building our House Orchid 4200 with Burbank 12Dec 28, 2011 8:22 pm Hi Gremlin, fingers crossed that you get approval from your ghostly neighbour. Fairfax is one of new design, did you get the 2700 version or the 3000? We did alot of modification to our house, therefore did not have enough budget to upgrade much during the colour selection. Some key upgrades that I managed were - double power point through out, and cat 6 cables. No progress in our build until we get more bricks (we ran out of bricks) hoping sometime after Jan 10th. 2012 will be the year of our builds. Hope you do not need to wait too much longer Orchid 4200 with Burbank: Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53034 House Built in 7 Months and 2 weeks Re: Building our House Orchid 4200 with Burbank 13Dec 29, 2011 7:00 pm thanks doublej2500tis all a little odd ......we went with the 2700 pretty much we got the kitchen island bench as displayed, study fitout, upgraded tiles to 450x450 and carpet to cat 4 as we could not come to grips with the lower grades with it we got cat 2 underlay , extra lighting here and there, bits and bobs and other bits, crazy how they charge for higher cat in things cause they are "popular"....lol had to go with colour boards to keep the costs from blowing out but we did pretty well overall for our first build colour selection. cheers gremlin Re: Building our House Orchid 4200 with Burbank 14Dec 30, 2011 1:23 pm I think you did well with the Upgrades - Carpet and tiles are things that you use & feel every day. I wish I had upgraded my underlay - hoping the Cat 1 will not be so bad. Saying that we have 2 young kids, hoping to upgrade after they grow up a bit.. I also noticed that TV Antenna has been installed, good stand for birds to polish my roof tiles I have a feeling we are not too far from lockup Orchid 4200 with Burbank: Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53034 House Built in 7 Months and 2 weeks Re: Building our House Orchid 4200 with Burbank 16Jan 10, 2012 7:56 pm Wow!
