Calling all creative minds - help with screen

Gday all,
I've only got a couple of things to finish off in my back yard, one being a screen of sorts that I'm going to put my BBQ in front of. I've built a 2400mm wide x 2000mm high frame but still cant decide on what to put on it.
The ideas I have are
- Merbau screen to match the deck
- Brushwood fencing type material
- Line with Blueboard and paint a different colour to the fence
- Corrugated iron laid horizontal or verticle, plain steel colour.

Either side of the screen there's a small garden bed (250mm wide) that I'm going to put something like agapantha's in there.

Here are a couple of photo's. I've added one in there that also shows the alfresco deck/area.

Any other idea's are more than welcome.

***Edit i should have continued on from my old thread (bit late now) but there is a photoshop image of what I had planned. Although its change now and I've made the screen smaller, you get the idea.

Deep burnt red!!!! It will look great with the grey fence.

I can only warn you away from the brushwood material, we did that and it looked great for about 4 months then over the summer it turned grey and ugly

That’s my thoughts….. at least with paint it can be painted in a Solo Guard, and last for a few good years then you just choose another colour and repaint.

Making your wall a constant feature wall of colour.

Low maintenance!

I agree with Michelle. A hardwood screen will only add to the maintanance you'll already have with the uncovered hardwood deck

Probably not the best example….but it was the only photo on the net I had time to look for with the colour in it…………

The red is the colour I’m talking about!
Get a sample pot of Dulux Murray Red and paint it next to the grey……you should be happy!!!

Merbau. Oiled. Lovely. Just more expensive, butnot a lot more than blue board/painting. Ties the yard together.

You gotta oil the deck every now and then anyway, slapping a bit on your wall will take an extra 10 minutes...big deal. Do it with a pump up sprayer...too easy.

Plus...if you really want you could run a creeper of some sort through it to break it up and add some colour.

Right'e'o then

After changeling my mind a ozen times I decide to bite the bullet and do as Michelle suggested (thanks Michlle) and here's the finished product...minus a good clean up.

I needed to buy some plants for for another garden bed so I decided to get some plants to match the Murray Red colout on the wall. I still think the garden bed is missing something tho, a contrasting colour perhaps.

You just need some Lime Green ceramic pots against the grey walls near the BBQ.
Solar lights in the post…..and something decorative on the Murray Red wall, looking great, glad you like it!

Had to take a photo of one of my lime green pots, I couldn’t find any on the net!

I was thinking that it might need something like that but couldnt thin what.

We're just about to sell the place once I finish off a few little things hopefully a week or two and we'll be on the market.
I just need to make it presentable, something decorative on the wall would finish it off nice but what to put there.

I put a link up to website for some out door sculptures, but I can’t find it now.

Go to a nursery and just buy a cement wall hanger. If your leaving it behind no point spending heaps of money.
