Re: Solar Panels Instead Roof Tiles - Experiences? 10Jan 05, 2012 11:41 pm I wish we had the range Europe and the USA does. Shingles, small flat bolt on squares, roll on, mexican rounded tiles, flat tiles, clip lock tile panels (2 meters by 400mm)... Nope~ We have hulking bolt on panels that weigh heaps mate! Re: Solar Panels Instead Roof Tiles - Experiences? 11Jan 06, 2012 10:22 am Quote: We have hulking bolt on panels that weigh heaps mate! A 1580 X 808 panel only weighs a mere 15.5Kg which, compared to the many tons of roof tiles, is very little actually. This panel, apart from being far cheaper, is designed as an add-on for any type of roof covering rather than be an integral part of the roof so when things go wrong and they have to be removed etc your roof is not open to the elements. Arfur Re: Solar Panels Instead Roof Tiles - Experiences? 13Nov 20, 2016 8:52 am Hi I'm currently in the design stage. Have been looking at Tractile but struggling to get in contact with anyone from the company. Would also love feedback re integrated PV from anyone who has it. It still appears to be rare despite my investigations last time I built. I had hoped by now more people had tried them but as with all build products, people rarely step outside the norm. People make one happy, not houses? I do not think so. Houses are more to be trusted than people. I sent an email to Info@tractile.com.au and the director responded . Give email a go and in my case he responded in a couple of days. The Tractile is my pick of the lot, since it has solar water heating too. Re: Solar Panels Instead Roof Tiles - Experiences? 15Nov 20, 2016 12:51 pm Cheers GLO. I will update if you can too please? Re: Solar Panels Instead Roof Tiles - Experiences? 20Jul 21, 2017 11:49 am Tractile contacted me but I can't justify the cost. It is prohibitive considering my overall budget. Has anyone else considered using them? They look so good but the premium still isn't worth it. People make one happy, not houses? I do not think so. Houses are more to be trusted than people.
