It was all too easy, thankfully. We are thrilled with the result! We found a pot/bowl we liked and size that suited, plugged the drainage hole with a wine cork and silicon, painted the interior with four coats of Crommelin Pond Sealer, levelled the pot, filled with water and visited our local aquatic plant supplier for gold fish and plants. Easy-peasy! The plants we chose are: Amazon Queen, Dwarf Papyrus, Apricot Waterlily, a flat leafed twig rush and a couple of bunches of Elodea (to help oxygenate the water for the fish, who'll eat the mozzie lavae, some algae and fish food flakes). We'll have to keep an eye on algae levels and may adjust the quantity of plants and fish accordingly, possibly doing partial water changes just like you do for a fish aquarium. Today our first waterlily flower appeared! It closes at night and throughout the day the colour deepens. So cool.
