Browse Forums Building A New House Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 61Dec 22, 2011 1:12 pm Thanks Hep. Yeah I agree & I prob should have rang the police... was more shocked than anything! We will def be there from the first night, we take ownership early feb.. Cant WAIT! even though it will be a lonely little old street for a while. I noticed the only other house that will be in before us is the Kurmond house up on.... Landsbourgh? I forget the name but the big Kurmond single story up near the road, they moved in on Monday... I was thinking the same thing, Ropes Crossing have a community group on facebook and they all post on whats going on... Maybe we could do the same for JS. Congrats on your pegs Hep its a step in the right direction the process is starting!!! and I checked out your blog... Woolies looks great, will be alot bigger than I imagined... Hopefully we will see that go up pretty quick Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 62Dec 22, 2011 1:22 pm Good to hear that you are moving into your house during Feb. I thought that Delfin, would have built a wall along the northern road. Looking at their plans during the earlier stage, I presumed that there will be a wall. Hopefully like Hep said, with people occupying the properties the vandalism will slow down. With my Lot, near the northern road, I am really getting jittery. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 63Dec 22, 2011 1:55 pm Hi all, I agree with hep's comments: "Once we're in we will have to arrange some sort of community group like most estates do so we can jump on these things quick smart". This would def keep our community safer.. Mashp & Hep,with the Xmas shutdown, when's are you expecting yr home be completed? Im hoping that mine (fingers crossed) will be completed June/July..(my application is still with council though) My 2 cents worth, make sure you organise your home & content insurance to take effect the day the builder installs your electrical equipments in yr home and hand over the keys to you. just need to find out from the builder the exact date and advise your insurance company the date of effect.. this would at least gives you that peace of mind Anyways....have a very merry xmas and may 2012 brings abundance of JOY!!! Ross & Angelin landsborough st Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 64Dec 22, 2011 2:11 pm Yes we cant wait, We have been bulding for 8 weeks now, so it took us 8 weeks to lockup... and now we have the xmas shut down for 4 weeks, I am going to be so bored waiting for them to come back! but yes feb move in which is great I can keep my eye out on all your builds while they are happening and then around June I think we will get a lot of you moving in and have neighbours!!! I expected a wall too mashp... I was actually told there would be a wall put up by Delfin... although we were also told we would have sold signs, grey water and that the fibre optics wouldnt be any dramas so i guess you cant believe what your told haha!!!! Hope you all have a great Christmas... and that 2012 is the year you have all dreamed of, i know it will be for us! Nadine & Brad Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 65Dec 22, 2011 4:22 pm Yes guys..keep our fingers crossed for the exciting move into Jordan Springs in 2012. I would be hoping to move in June/July at least. Heard that this is going to be a wet summer, so my plans to move into my new home in April seems like a April fool joke. Seems like Normette's house near completion and thought I saw them inspecting the house yesterday evening. I feel that by Feb atleast 10-20 family's will move into Jordan Springs. Good that shaikin mentioned Fibre optic. Any new drama about Fibre optic. The NBN website has listed Penrith for the NBN...but coudnt locate Jordan Springs on it. Seems like my present house would be linked to the FTTH and Jordan Springs will not..(Hope I am proved wrong on this ). Anyway...Happy Christmas to all building at Jordan Springs..Next year we may as well have a grand barbecue in the Jordan Springs park..hhhhhhhhaaah Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 66Dec 24, 2011 1:04 pm Hi everyone, YES - it's true. Normette and husband have taken possession of keys on Thursday morning. So the Big 'O' is all ours. We'll be doing driveways, fencing and landscaping over the next few weeks and then we'll be in. There are a handful of others who have moved in - two in Rowland Place, one in Grosvernor, Pitt and Water Gum and a couple in Sandstock. The summer weather forecast doesn't bode well for those about to start - pretty hard to lay a slab in mud Hopefully the rain gods can go on holidays for just a few weeks so you can all get your slabs down early. normette Building a Firstyle, Oran 30 aka THE BIG 'O' Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 67Dec 30, 2011 10:05 pm shaikin we are building in crimson street and noticed your windows smashed not a good thing to happen but it does happen. it happened to my parents when they first built in cranebrook 17 years ago, time doesn't change. Also looks like we have the same bricks ours are espresso we were looking at vino but liked the blue tone better.. looks great and looks like a good size home:-)
Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 68Dec 30, 2011 11:09 pm I'm on Crimson as well. Looks like I'll have a few in before mines done to help keep an eye out. Which house is yours jordanspringsfamily? Building the Strand 40 by Kurmond Homes in Jordan Springs, Penrith Blog:http://houseofhep.blogspot.com/ Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 69Jan 01, 2012 3:53 pm Hello all Happy new year and happy building/moving into Jordan Springs. We are currently building in Bonney Crescent (Elderton Homes, first one past the park on the left) and have a couple of queries if anyone can enlighten us!!! Firstly the fibre optic stuff. We have got the electrcian via the builder to put all the necessary infrastructure in e.g. cabelling and box in the garage etc. but we are unsure what to do once we move in? Is there only one provider or is it like regular internet/foxtel whereby you choose who you would like? We noticed that the occupied houses - which look amazing- have an antenna, does that mean that Jordan Springs is not fibre optic ready yet? We are at the frame up and bricks delivered stage with our house, but the holidays have stopped any progress... boo hoo. We visit every Saturday morning without fail and take a progress photo to make a book and were so excited when the slab went down and then the frames etc, it's just great fun! After reading the comments on this forum it seems like Jordan Springs is going to be an amazing place to live as everyone seems so nice and friendly and we look forward to meeting you all! Hope to see you at the next BBQ. Happy Building Terry and Michelle x Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 70Jan 01, 2012 6:02 pm Hi M & T Congrats on your building progress. May have missed seeing you guys as I think I would be your neighbour. Mine may start anytime after the break. So have you got your builder to do get the lead conduit from the cables to your home. I am still at sea regarding the fibre optic and my builder doesn't seem to have much idea about it or he is acting like he does't want to know. It would be much appreciated if people who have moved in share their experience regarding the FTTH. Oh...Happy New Year to all once again. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 71Jan 01, 2012 7:53 pm hi hep we havnt started building yet we are in the paper work stage banks took a long time it was a nightmare but all good now.. we are across from you next to the eden home which is at brick stage.. telmish we are also building with elderton we checked out your home to see the building work they do Richard is great to deal with he has been so patient specially with a fussy person like myself that has made over 100 changers im even driving my husband mad its all i talk about but i just dont want to regret anything or forget anything.. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 72Jan 01, 2012 9:32 pm Hey again Maship - are you next door to us?? Jordanspringsfamily - yes Richard is great, we made heaps of changes, some were forgotten but if you keep giving a friendly reminder they get done, at a cost ofcourse! It will be good to see how ours looks because I think we couldpossibly be the first Elderton in Jordan Springs! It is going to be so exciting for everyone once things get moving. Can't wait as we have never built before, because we are originally from the UK and this sort of buy land pick builder set up is not done over there, so its really great fun! Of to sleep fortunately not nursing a NYE hangover!! Bye for now Terry and Michelle x Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 74Jan 01, 2012 10:57 pm Telmish i know nothing is for nothing lol are u doing the Kiah facade and is your home of the plan? Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 75Jan 02, 2012 10:03 am i cant wait for the holidays to be over and get everything moving again.. i love watching all the progress taking place at jordan springs.. Hep my son got an electric ben 10 jeep of his nanny for christmas so im sure they will be driving up and down the street in them when we finally move in lol.. what stage are u up too with the house? and we are living in cranebrook so not far to go to hang out in the park.. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 76Jan 02, 2012 10:52 pm anyone going to any of the events this month at Jordan springs? Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 77Jan 03, 2012 9:01 am I only know that they were looking to reschedule that BBQ because of the rain. Have you heard anything else? Nice to hear from some close neighbours, sounds like Jordan Springs is going to be a nice place to live based on the friendly people on here. Building the Strand 40 by Kurmond Homes in Jordan Springs, Penrith Blog:http://houseofhep.blogspot.com/ Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 78Jan 03, 2012 9:11 am Hello all Jordansprings family - We are building the display home as per Kellyville and have the Kiah Facade. On the Jordan Spring website, I think that the BBQ is advertised as a family fun day on the 21st Jan. It will be at the newly opened Sales building. But there are lot of activities advertised, especially if you have children, which is great. http://www.jordansprings.com.au/Living- ... ts-On.aspx We visited JS on Saturday and spoke to one of the neighbours who has moved in already, we asked about the fibre optic stuff and he said that when he moved in Lendlease said it would possibly be about 6 months before thay had a provider, I think its once there is a few more residents. Enjoy the sun Terry and Michelle Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 79Jan 03, 2012 7:25 pm Hi Hep yes check out there web site its great for kids.. there's the rooby red story day, rock climbing and soccer clinic day, reptile encounters day, family day and the outdoor cinema night with cars. I think its great how they have these activity's and i really do hope as time goes on they keep them up not just once all the land is sold and they move on.. is there a community group that organizers these events??? Im really looking forward to moving to Jordan springs where your neighbours are not your strangers. Hep have you meet any another neighbours in the street? TELMISH i seen workers at your site today good to see things moving again. we are also doing the kiah facade and that fibre stuff goes straight over my head i dont even try working that one out.. No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 22281 No, not yet. It’s currently being assessed by our building surveyor 4 19525 With that sort of soil type if you ask for a design to include piers then I would also include void formers. That way you should reduce the chances of settlement and heave. 7 20008 |
