They are obviously trying to get as much money as possible from anyone who is pushed to pay. This is a fee that the insurer needs to pay. Same goes with getting the certificates. The insurer paid for ours. Speaking to a rep from Trend the other day, they are trying use as many tradesmen used for the original construction as possible. Every single one of those tradesmen has asked Trend for full payment for work to date, even though Trend (via the insurance) is only liable for the works conducted post Cosmo bust. So the tradies will do their best to pull every cent they can. Spoke to an excavator guy who was owed 200K by Cosmo, never to see a cent of it.
