Browse Forums Building A New House Porter Davis homes 4002Dec 12, 2011 8:45 pm Congrats to everyone on your progress! I get more and more jealous every time I read an update! As for us, received another call from management, pd are still pushing to apply this variation to charge us back for our mistake. Tomorrow I am seeing our solicitor to see what our options are. It's really rather upsetting to be pushed with this now, if we have no option but to pay it will really hurt our plans for furnishing/concreting/fencing etc. We are on a budget and this was completely unexpected. The manager of PD Access was not sympathetic in the slightest, which I think is funny considering they are the brand targeted at first home buyers on smaller budgets wanting to get in the market. Hi Wateman, I’m sorry to hear of the frustration you’ve had regarding the PCV’s and your disappointment with the manager at PD Access. If you want to send me a private message with the full details of your concerns and I can forward it onto the main PD office have someone look into this for you. Stick to your guns Waterman, you are within your rights not to pay... thats what they signed up to. Seek legal advice - its a fixed price contract so they should not have a leg to stand on Cheers, Alpal Building PD Heathmont 40 BLOG: http://alpal-pd-heathmont40.blogspot.com/ Deposit paid 19/08/2011 Contract signing 3/10/2011 Site Start 10/11/2011 Slab 23/11/2011 Re: Porter Davis homes 4006Dec 13, 2011 10:32 am Hi All, Quick update: roof tiles are on and the SS told me he has managed to book bricky last week of XMAS. I must say I'm impressed he managed to get a bricky this time of year... So I hope that by xmas we will have the roof on, wrapping done and GL brickwork up.. Glad to see that everyone else's houses are moving along as quickly.. All this progress in such a short amount of time. I love catching up on everyone else's build and reading all your comments.. How did people even build a house before Homeone? Hehe. So any who I actually have a question.. My MIL was checking out the photos we took at the house over the weekend and noticed something we didn't.. We have 3 glass sliding doors, on one of the doors at the top the metal has been bent out of shape and some of the paint has been scratched off. This isn't a structural issue, it's purely aesthetic. Should I bring it up with my SS next time he calls me or should I just let it go and live with it? Isnt it awesome to hear how everyones homes are progressing....i check every night or during the day and someone alaways has some to share. Keep us posted on what you decide to do. Thanks in advance Bring it up, we had the same issue, and they swapped it out.. it would be covered during the PCI anyways. How many days for your build does that make? Seems amazingly fast for such a bit house Thanks waterman, the house has taken 156 days to build which I think is amazing. My SS hasn't pushed the build either, we were lucky to have good weather from July to Sept and most importantly that all tradies turned up before schedule. Major hold ups happen at the bricking, painting and tiling stages. Here you can lose a month + if there is delays. Re: Porter Davis homes 4016Dec 14, 2011 9:22 am Hi All, Quick question.... Has anyone run their own cabling during the building works? I would like to run some CAT6 cable to 3-4 rooms and was wondering if anyone has done this and PD were OK with it... Also when is the best time to do this - I am suspecting just before plastering Any feedback would be great Cheers, Alpal Building PD Heathmont 40 BLOG: http://alpal-pd-heathmont40.blogspot.com/ Deposit paid 19/08/2011 Contract signing 3/10/2011 Site Start 10/11/2011 Slab 23/11/2011 Re: Porter Davis homes 4018Dec 14, 2011 9:42 am Hi All, for those of you wanting a PCI checklist here is a great site I found thru this forum. http://www.anewhouse.com.au/?p=296 Ivanhoe 36 Dep:18-4-11 Tender:26-5-11 Colour/Electrical:8-6-11 Contract:29-6-11 Building Permit:6-7-11 Site Start:16-8-11 PCI:10-1-12 Handover:24-1-12 http://eli-kay-ivanhoe36.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 4019Dec 14, 2011 10:08 am cattycatcat Wooow... Thanks in advance Hi Cattycatcat, I love reading everyone’s updates too and being able to offer assistance where I can. I agree with Sammyjane31, I think it’s best to bring everything up with your SS, even some of the minor things. If it isn’t something they would fix, I’m sure they would be the best person to give you some DIY tips on it. Let us know how you go. Cheers, Ebony Porter Davis Homes Questions?
